this just would have happened to me but i fooled someone trying to scam me on d2

the person asked me if i wanted to see how my acount was rated on bnet and he said type this...

/dnd rate me (account name) (password)

i typed in a this with a fake password and it said do not disturb mode activated, i knew i would have been scammed if my pass was my real 1 and i logged off for the day and when i got back on it said in the chat box:

failed login attemps:3

so dont do anything that involves your account password people

i thought you said new scam? this has been around since AT LEAST 1.09. when someone tries to scam me with this i dont ''get all sneaky'' and try to ''fool them'' by putting a fake password like you, i either laugh at them and leave, or put "**** off scammer" as my away message.

but i guess thanks for trying to put a warning out for people that are new and stupid

This is not at all a new scam, in fact its really old. When someone whispers you while in Dnd mode it replies the message you left (following your /dnd command ie /dnd Im botting whisper me later) In the case of the scam they whisper you and you auto reply your name and pw. Its rare you hear of someone trying this because almost everyone already knows it.

Additional Comment:
beat me to it blood, my window hadn't refreshed yet

thats what i dont get about these scams....if someone is newb enough to fall for them, the probably dont have anything the scammer would want anyways, so whats the point?

theres another scam out there, was pulled on me yesterday, this guy with an account called d2 event.com(without the space) and his char name was ryhyn . he said he developed a new dupe and wanted to chare it with me, he'll ask for ur email and send you a keylogger, so dont accept any emails from this guy

Listen to what blizzard says.Do NOT type your password in battle.net.BLizzard will never ask for your password and do not spear your password to your friend list.I think that if you press in the channel
your-account///real-password it will show this message
Do not type your password in the channels.Blizzard will never ask for it,and your char will say this
Your-character:

you cant type your password in channels. if you do you'll get a message saying dont type it and when you click ok it will show that you said nothing.

"so, do you rmember me?"

he was like, guess my name n shit. so i did, and he goes.. yeahhh long time no see. i was like yeah i know. we went in a game and chatted and he had an unoutfitted hammer, and he goes

"for old times sake, can i try on your gear to see my damage?"

we chatted for like 15 minutes, him playing along. almost fell for it. best scam ive ever encountered
