Some monsters have more fire res than the convic can handle. My merc's infinity doesn't take light immune off some of the unique Council members or Souls. But for the most part it takes care of 98% of immunes.

If you don't care then why'd you bother posting?

i'd say it takes care of more like 30-40%, but that would be just a guess from what i have seen. havent actually used my infinity merc yet, so i cant speak from experience, just what i see in parties. other than that, fuggs is right on though.

Maybe he was interested?

Yeah, if a monster has around 140% res or so, conviction cannot break the immunity...

Well from what I personally kill, Merc takes care of 95-98% of Lit Immunes. I can normally do a Chaos run and only have to worry about Grand Vizier once every 3-4 runs. Thats why I got a Might Merc, he can destroy anything I can't kill or can't kill well.

I thought infinity had a second effect that caused it to reduce light res more then it does for Fire-Ice? I will take a look later today, I remember reading that somewhere

yea takes off another 40 to 50 (or something) lite rez. but i think that counts only for the attacker.

Well i read somewhere that the extra -% light onl works after convic has taken off the immunities.

yep the -lightning res only efect non immune monsters, so if they are still immune after conviction it has no effect + it only effects the user of the item so it has no benefit to anyone except the merc if hes using it.

The -%lightning resist only works with merc's lightning damage, not with yours.
