Simply what are the best games of all time (PC only)?
in 5-25 years from now, as old people, what games will we remember the most?
Personal favourites too....
I also need help with one other thing too, and it's pretty simple:
What games are best played in a LAN or with people around town? d2 works well, starcraft broodwars, aoe2... something that doesn't take too much time to get into, simple but fun....
----------------------------------
Games we'll remember:
Halflife - Counterstrike
Diablo 2, Starcraft/Broodwars, and I guess Warcraft series are pretty decent.
The Console and easy cookie cutter games: Halo, Worms Armageddon, Grand Theft Auto.
-----------------------------------
My personal favourites/classics:
Darklands by microprose
One Must Fall 2097
Lords of the Realm 2
Heroes of Might and Magic 2/3 (homm2/3)
Caesar II
Quarantine (Taxi Driving)
Keen series
Doom 1/2
Stunts (Driving game)
Outpost
Raptor (Flyer shootem up)
Theme Park (Build amusement park - custom rollercoasters)
Ultima Online
That's all I can think of :/

Ive always liked the civilization series. Just something about nuking other smaller countries relentlesly so that their land is completely unusable and uninhabitable that really gives me wood.

Counter-Strike
Diablo 2
Starcraft
Warcraft III
Final Fantasy FFXI
I'm going to say the most memorable game for me was the Fallout series (only 1 & 2)
But other games that'd make my list would be :
Half-life (CS)
Quake series (bringing online mutiplayer FPS mainstream..)
World of Warcraft (I've never even played it and it's pretty much the best MMORPG)
Monkey Island Series (old school)
The Sims
p.s. Well Known : Fallout 3 is coming! Learned a tidbit where it's going to take place on the east coast instead of the west. (an assumption drawn from many who has seen concept art..)

Total Annihilation, an RTS, that I still play once in awahile, KKND2 Krossfire, another RTS game.. I snapped the disk on accident so I cant play it anymore.. and Starcraft, mostly the ums, another RTS game which is quite fun. I tried getting good at melee on SC but i never did get anywhere. Oh, and the Age of Empires games.

ANd omg, you played KKnD? I never played the sequel, but the first one was the first ever RTS I've ever played, it was so old school. I had a friend who got it and we used to play games together using (lol) modem.

You have to add Command and Conquer, and Baldur's Gate to that list.
I will always remember playing warcraft 2 on my dads 133mhz computer when I was 9.
Also, put the Doom games, other than 3 on the list. The remembered list, I mean. Not just your personal list.

Games I'll always remember?
Diablo II LOD - so many sleepless nights spent on this game. Spent the majority of my teenage years playing this game. Sure, it hurt so bad... social life? /f l. Played it for 7 years and yeah, I do regret it. But I'll never forget it.
Starcraft : Brood War - One of the greatest games ever made. Blizzard really does it with every game they put out. This is the most balanced RTS ever put out. Free online play, replay function... make your own maps and play against a challenging AI - This is definitely one of the best games ever made.
Warcraft II - Started playing this when I was 8 or 9 or something dumb... some of the most fun I ever had in my life. Some of the most fun I ever had spending time with my dad, playing this game and sabotaging his gold mines. Good times.
Final Fantasy VII - One of the best games of its time. Just as fun to watch as it is to play. 99 hours played, countless spent watching, talking about and waiting to play this game afterschools.
World of Warcraft - 6 million subscribers will speak for itself.

hah, i was such a geek back then..Yeah, i've played both the first and the sequel, they are both really great games, in fact, that was also the first RTS i've played. Thats when i started really getting into the RTS genre of games after i played it. I was thinking about ordering it used on ebay for old times sake.

Indeed, Final Fantasy 7 has to be my favorite game of all time, i never knew it was on computer, I own the one on ps1, and i still play it. I was thinking of starting a new file. I must of completed that game 10 times, and i'm still not bored with it.
