I'd Like to extend my thanks an appreciation from myself, an all Steelers Fans, to the time an energy that Bill gave the Steelers organization. Thank you Bill for sticking it out 15 years, taking us to 10 Playoffs, Tieing the NFL record with 8 Division Titles, Getting us to 6 AFC championship games, 2 Superbowls, an Winning 1 Superbowllaugh: You also Lead Bill Walsh, Chuck Noll, an Tom Landry with your Win/Loss % over 15 years. I remember back in 1992 feeling bitter about Chuck Noll Leaving, an some basically no-name young guy taking his place, But you have more than made the Steelers successfull, an a household name all over the world. It was an exciting 15 years, full of many many happy, sad, Laughable memories. To Bill Cowher an his family, from your Steelers family, may life treat you well, an may time find you back in your Steelers family again. It was amazing to see the "Hometown" guy, win a Superbowl, for the city he grew up in. We will miss you Bill, an most of all we will miss the Chinsmartass2 Yours in life an happiness:

Steelers Fan since 1978 an 4 Life

Exactly what i was going to say fuggle. But what you said is very nice Ael. I too believed that Bill was a wonderful coach leading the Steelers to the Superbowl and winning it. It's sad, but its about time he left..

Good riddance, I'm sure there will be a new bandwagon for everyone to jump on after the Super Bowl though...

Bandwagon?, heh, I guess I was a Bandwagon Jumper back in the '70s, but I stuck through Cordell, Bubby, Neil, Mike, goin 6-10 ect... Not too many fans anymore, can claim to have followed the same team religiously for nearly 30 years... But.. thats just me, I'm sure there are others who enjoy "The Flavor of the week"

Hey I think he was a great coach....But he almost didn't survive the end of the 90's lets not forget...He is damn lucky that he plays for the only team in the Leauge that will let a coach stay around that long anymore. He has a great record the results are there. I just always hated how he stuck his jaw out, and spit all over the place all the time...LOL but then again I loved Ditka, so who am I to talk LOL!

Well put Jordan, it's a shame to see one of the last few "throwback" coachs leaving the NFL, well I'm sure he'll be hunting a job in '08 ;P

Yeah, I think that he will take a year off, then come back in the right situation. maybe 09

I hope he doesn't come back, I hate when people retire and just come out a few years later... Jay Z for example, sucked and retired, came out of retirement and still sucks. I'm a Chiefs fan though so who am I to talk?

Ah, he never said he was going to retire...He just didn't sign an extension. It seems like the Steelers didn't want to sign him either knowing he wanted big money.

Interesting side note: In the 15 years Bill Cowher was head coach, there was 105 coaching changes in the NFL

Yeah its like I said before...You never see one coach last that long on a team anymore.
