Wow I honestly did not think that the Gators would be champs. I didn't watch the game because frankly I wasn't interested in it, but it probably wasn't exciting anyways because it was such a blowout.

I figured that Florida could win considering the Underdog has won like the last 5 championships or something like that?
I watched the game, and when Ohio state scored on the opening kickoff I figured that the game was over for Florida. The truth is Ohio state got dominated. Proof that a 50 day layoff is horrible. I do not understand why they drag it out like that...

Because the BCS is shit, to many teams to many bowls... Maybe a tournament with the winners of each conference would be better but there is no way to tell w/o it being tried.

Two many Bowl games isn't the reason it is drug out. The reason is because The BCS bowls want to have a huge stage. But having it when they did lost a lot of interest. Everyone is focused on the Pro game. There is no way that the game should be a week after New years.
The best solution I can figure is take the top 8-10 ranked teams and have a playoff....That way you can still include the precious bowl games (yuck) and have the right teams playing together. I mean why the hell doesn't Boise State have a shot? I was really dissapointed that they were only ranked 5th in the final polls.

i think its dragged out because for academic reasons of the players. i think they have mid-terms or something at that time so they delay the bowls. plus their kids and even after a 12game season their bodies could use a rest. a playoff would force them to play up to 3-4 extra game sand take a bigger toll on their bodies. that's how teams who win the super bowl, their players go under a lot more physical stress after from the longer season. that's why the first-round bye is so precious to get.

anyways, i love how everyone was saying how much the gators were gonna get the shit beat outta them and that eventhough they would have the "use against the world mentality" it wouldn't be enough. then the gators come out and totally dominate ohio state.

the rose bowl this year wasn't even that good. last years rose bowl was probably one of the most amazing college games ever, not even considering it was the national championship game.

No offense but everything you said is false. First off Finals have nothing to do with why they are laid off for so long. Its because the BCS and the big Confs want to milk as much money out of it that they can. That is why there isn't a playoff. To add two more games, every player will tell you that they wouldn't mind it at all. What takes more of a toll on their bodies is to be laid off for over a month and a half, and then be expected to play a hard hitting game.
Byes in football are over-rated since a lot of the time the team with the bye, and home field advantage looses in the first round because they get cold.
The team that always wins is the team that is hot at the end, Look what what Pittsburg did last year...
