Whats the thing about RuneScape?

I don't understand the "big" thing about runescape... over 100,000 people play it at once. For one, the graphics are horrible. The third-person view set up is set up bad. They censor almost every word....
What do you guys think?

Your right L4E, there is absolutely no point. You keep playing until whatever their level restrictions meet to and thats it. You basically can't even beat the game.

I played Runescape right as I got bored of Diablo, never payed for it, and stopped around level 15. It's a pointless game, no story, not even worth paying a cent for, and its web-based, so its capability is limited. If you play it because its free, try Maple story, if you don't want to pay monthly, play Guild Wars.

i downloaded wow demo and it sucked. i have also seen other people play it. it looked cool, how they were using like 20 people to take down 1 monster, but when i logged into the game itself it was, well, looks can be decieving. i wont even try and defend either game, because they both SUCK

runescape has alot of older players and younger

there are about 70,000 players while kids are in school and 200,000 when school is out but like u said there really is no point besides getting all skills to 99 and combat lvl over 120

Just for arguments sake, please people, only compare Runescape to other free games. WoW costs monthly money, but Runescape (free worlds) is free. It does suck, even among the free ones. There is no need to drag paid games into the fight = ).

As a coder I admire the amount of content they put into a single Java applet, but it's still not a good game when comparing it among other games.
