The shoulders as in back or arms?If arms lift weights and do curls. Not too many if you are unuse to this.If back I suggest pushups, try sets of 20 every morning and before bed. While in the Army I could do 50 in 2 minutes...the guys were jealous.

Do shoulder shrugs with about 50-60 pound dumbells. Go about 4 sets of 80 or just do as many as you can each time but try to keep it close each set. Standing and doin shoulder shrugs works much better than sitting.
Pam, pushups work the chest and forearms more than anything else. And it took you a full two minutes to do 50? :P
What surprises you about that dude?According to your pics ,you are far from *buff* For your information, the advice you gave was terrible for starters.Obviously nobody in school explained to you a woman has less upper body strength on average as a male.-Pamela

50 pushups in 2 minutes is about 1 pushup/2.5 seconds which seems not bad. Wow Pam that's pretty badass lol. I made a thread on this a little while ago and in it someone(blood I think) said how to work about for each specific area. I'd suggest searching for it, it was in small talk too maybe 3-4 months ago.
handstand pushups, if youre comfortable holding a handstand that is.. :P use a wall if your not
And it took you a full two minutes to do 50? :P
do you seriously think you could do 50 pushups in 2 mins?

Another good exercise for building mass is the "Arnold Press". Look it up on google and you should be able to find some animated pics that show you the exact movement of the exercise. Its a dumbell shoulder press with another movement added to the end. I use 35 to 40 lb dumbells, 3 sets of 15. Its a azzbeater, I promise. Plus, any exercise with Arnold's name attached to it couldn't be a bad exercise.

I worked out for a year and a half and all I really built was shoulder muscle.
If you have free weights do a military press. Otherwise all you can really do is push ups unless your strong enough to lift your entire body, you lean on a wall up side down and push yourself up (like push ups, but you lift your entire body which is leaned on the wall), its kinda hard to explain. I can do it but only a few at a time, however it would be great for working shoulder and back muscles.

WARNINGS ON CREATIN!!*** creatin is in most simple terms a "legal steroid", it IS a steroid which is unharmful to ones health and attitude, however sideeffects do occur like all steroids these sideeffects include, increased acne on back and upper legs,(not an issue if you shower after you workout)
mild increase in a certain part of the male body(^_^) , increased hunger(about 2x as much as you normaly eat)
thats it

He seems to have some well versed people responding to this.
Pam, it is what they teach in Gym Class in high school, and at gyms. And I don't care how *buff* I look. People can look buff which is just another expresion for cut up and not be strong. I've seen an extremly fat kid bench 425 in sets of 12. Looks can be decieving. >.>
Tap, I know I can. I matters little to me whether or not you or anyone else think I can. Those people in RL that know me know I can. Call me a liar if you wish. Sticks and Stones. ;)
