OK please, i need someone to help me out.....i downloaded the character for diablo and it says what do i open it with. What do i open it with to run it? someone help me out

what program did you download it with/for.....is it for a hero editor?. I hope you know it will not work on closed bnet. Can you be a little more specific with your question, maybe a filetype even?

ok i did download heroeditor also, but as you can probably tell im pretty new so i dont know how i can run it, but the characters i was talking about was on the download page, it was the first one where you can download a level 99 paladin and assasin so i downloaded it but i need to know how i can open and run the two of them, they are just sitting on my desktop.

so move them into a folder that the hero editor readme/helpfile/ of guide tells you to. Since you are pretty new to this i think it is right to ask you....do you know that you will not be able to play with these characters online?

the readme for the hero editor.....wherever you downloaded it from look for a guide....if that doesn't work type "hero editor name" and Guide into google....it will probably tell you how to install it.

Go into the hero editor.....go to file.....go to open.....go to the hero you want to open....open it......then there is probably a help menu too....use that.....

like i said earlier....before you waste your time.....do you want to use this character online????

ok well in the end files will end up in your diablo2 dir.....what is the file extension type for your character files that you downloaded?????

i get what your saying but i can not run it from the desktop for some reason its still in the file format from when i downloaded it

Ok, I can see this is going nowhere.

First of all, you gotta calm down and stop asking all of these simple easy to answer questions lol. I can understand you need help but at least I know you can do some of these simple things.

For the characters files you've downloaded, you need to put those files in the C:\Program Files\Diablo II\save folder.

For Hero Editor, it is used to edit the characters you've made on single player.

After downloading Hero Editor, you extract it and click on the setup.exe. I would call u stupid for not seeing this (sorry).

After, open up Hero Editor and click on the open button on the bottom

go to the save folder as mentioned above (might be there by default) and click on a character to open it. Ta Da.

i opened it with c:and nothing happened

when i open it the error comes up - c:/d2character.zip is not a valid win32 application. what should i do?

Ok, you are very irritating, no offense :-)

Left click Hero Editor, dunno why you would Right Click.

Open characters using D2 (single player) and open up using Hero editor, not C: w/e that is (C:) ahahah

Dunno about the error, I guess your just doing your experiments wrong.

Overall, you are 1 messy person because everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong :P no offense. You = really hard to work with. Just look at all the Q's you've asked :-)

You want some help, it would have saved you alot of time to used the search function of the forum.....here is a sticky from the bots and mods section....which is where you should have been for hero editor....either way heres the hero editor guide:

lol no offense slash but you forgot the major one thing and that is to unzip the characters first for without that you cant do anything with them. lol and there are plenty of uncompression programs out there you could try winrar alzip or winzip plus a host of others to unzip the characters.

1. Download character from Diablo II Sector Downloads » Diablo II » Expansion Characters (http://d2sector.net/downloads/index.php?act=category&id=6)

2. Unzip using compression (I recommend a program called Winrar, google it or download it from Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com (http://www.download.com))

3. Put it in the "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\save" folder.

4. Open up single player.

NOTE: Can't use downloaded chars on b.net
