A friend of mine was telling me about multi-boxing he started doing using a program called keyclone. It allows you to run more than one account at the same time. He has two computers, a desktop and a laptop, and on each computer he has two windows open, running two accounts and one character from each account. That's a party of four characters being run by one person.

After talking with some GM's about it, they say it isn't against the rules because none of it is automated and everything is being controlled by one person. Think of the possabilities. You have to get a license to use the software on ONE computer. The license's cost $10 each and you can only use the software on the computer you have the license for.

It is set up to allow the accounts to link via broadband, so whatever you type in one window shows up in all four. For instance, if you had a party of three mages and a priest, you could have a macro for them to all perform one action. Likewise, you have a macro for the three mages to follow the preist, and another for them to target and dps whatever the priest is targeting.

I have two computers as well and am thinking about getting them licensed for this. He is playing around with it and showing me stuff and trying to get better, but with time, we could have a whole party controlled by just two people: prots, dps, dot, aoe, ect.

Just to piss people off, when we get better with the program, we were thinking of creating a massive warlock party. Fear...dot...dot...dot....dot...fear.....aoe....do t...dot..dot. smartass2

The way this works though, since you can't run multiple chars from any one account, is that you obviously have to have access to other accounts. What he is doing is telling his friends, and his brother, "Hey, let me use your account and I'll get you a char to lvl 70 fully decked." Pretty sweet deal for both people.

Seems like a pointless waste of time and money. Idk how you could get multiple classes to use the same order of commands, especially since everything is randomized in the game.

I'm using Vmware. It does that same thing. You can run two Windows Os at the same time. I use it to bot.

Would that work for Wow also?

So it can be easier. If it takes X amount of time to play to get something, and X/2 = the amount of time needed when you hack. Then I'll hack.

And no playing to get the item for a long time is not the fun part for hackers.

Plus its not even a hack. You didn't read. Look elsewhere for immature responses.

Go ahead and flame yourself for making a post like that when you obviously didn't read the first post. Talked to GM's about it, it ISN'T against any of the rules nor the TOS.

@Fuggle: I don't know that much about it yet, but from what I understand the accounts are linked via broadband and you can set certain macros that will enter in all windows that you have up. Meaning if you set a common macro to target the nearest ccc, then when you hit the macro, all the windows would recieve that command and act. However, it does allow for customization and the ability to control one of the windows either solo, or simultaneously.

So something that runs or opens, etc (on its own). Is not considered a 3rd party program?

That would be like saying running add-ons is against the rules. This isn't a third party program because everything is controlled by ONE person. numero Uno. One. I'm trying to make sure you understand this.............one.

I think its great that you can do this..

But isnt like a redvex plugin <<(just used for example)..

I know and i do understand u paying for something and also need different accounts..

But isn't like a hack.. Lvl other charas without really doing anything, besides maybe using macro..

Not really flaming anymore..

To control more than on chara. requires something..Besides more than one computer..

You're right, it requires one computer, a multi-boxing software, a license for said multi-boxing software, at least one other account besides your own, and a lot of practice. These were all things stated in my first post......which for the life of me I can't grasp why you are posting like you didn't read it.

I have never used redvex, but Keyclone isn't a plugin, it's a seperate running program that runs minimized on you toolbar. And you aren't just using macros, you're using anything that you normaly would in the game.
