first thing is i quote

"Is there an ideal % Magic Find Number?
No. The more the better. Previously a bug resulted a penalty for more than a certain percentage, but this has been fixed. "

thats from The Arreat Summit - Items: Magic Find (http://battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/magicfind.shtml)

what my problem is, i have a blizz sorc run by mmbot and the past 3 days since i gt perfect travs and perfect cancies, has not picked up anything good.

she wears : eth skullders with ptopaz, p ist shako, 34 mf amy, 2x p nagels, p travs, p chancies, goldwrap, p gheeds, 6 isted cs and 4 isted monarch.

Can anyone tell me if its just my luck, or this bug is still in effect so i have to get lower mf. If so can anyone tell me what is the ideal mf for pindle???

there is that evil thing called diminished returns. that could be affecting it. remember that mf only affects whether or not you will get a magical/rare/unique vs white item. it does not necessarily mean that you will get more godly items, although it helps

so what should i do in this case?

Mf increases the chance of getting blue items too so it balances out. People usually say ~250% mf is a nice amount. Which is the typical amount a Hammerdin has. You should actually just find ways to increase your killing speed instead of having so much mf.

well my bot has done around 3000 pinle runs in littebit les thatn 3 days and all it has found was 2 yellow shitty tiaras and a dwarf star. But before when i had half the mf i have now, i found awesome items like arach, eschutas, p nw etc. in only one night of runs

I cannot believe people still haven't understood this, but having more magic find % does not mean that you will have a better chance of finding good stuff necessarily. It increases your chance to find magic, unique, rare and set items. Even though your chance to find Tyrael's increases (although that won't drop from Pindle), so will your chances to find Tancred's.

And no, there is no magic switch that you can pull to immediately start finding good stuff.

Except, some Blizz employee unofficially mentioned somewhere that your level helps, so the higher level you are the better your chances are.

Well if your running pindleskin- he has a low chance to drop items, although he can drop some really good stuff too(i believe).

When I used to bot him It was back when you could do run constantly, without switching keys, it would go hours without dropping anything, sometimes basically a day without anything badass. Mainly about luck than anything else.

Don't go to high on mf. I've had chars that have had ~1k mf and tons of blues/yellow drop, although rarely those can be godly too.

okay, well i took off some mf stuff from my sorc, like skullders, 4 isted shield and 2 nagels. i replaced them with non magic fidn items and after 1 hour of botting i just found 193% titans and a WF.

You guys are too optimistic on what you should find everyday. Good items should drop every two days or more, finding godly items every single day isn't very likely.

But of course theres going to be somebody who post under me saying "I FIND PERF NIGHTWINGS + SOJ + MARAS EVERYDAY!"

well honest to god when i was running turbot i would get about 2 hoz's in 2 days/ countless bk rings/soj's....and countless shako's so much infact i had to disable them from my pickit. Now i dont really care to Mf that much so i havent loaded my botting chars with mass Magic find since 1.10 and d2jsp bot

id say anything over 350-400 is overkill and pointless

Yeah, i prefer to never break 400%, even if it is only just my litte superstition. Get as high a level as you can as well. And if it takes a few days for a good drop oh well. Botting is all stuff you got for a cost of no time and no money so if you get something cool and if you don't you're not out anything. My mmbot can go for days and find nothing but crappy barb helms and pelts then get 2-3 Maras in a 24 hour span. It's all just roll of the dice and there are a lotta dice that need to roll a certain way to get good stuff...have patience and you will be rewarded.

There you go. Then after this, you can go for a week without finding anything. Very likely to happen. Its just luck.

I didn't read anyone elses post, but I can tell you that the more mf, obviously the better chance to find unique stuff as well as a better chance to find magic stuff. The chance to find magic stuff increases at a much larger rate than unique stuff and may take priority over the unique stuff you usually find.

idk, but i think all im goign to do is start a fire sorc, have her at 300-400mf and just run her on one comp and my blizz with like 800mf on other comp

Don't forget to remove any gold find that you have on. That should make more items appear instead of stacks of worthless gold.

does that even affect the amount of items drop?
