Merc question

what changes on a merc from lvling it from lvl 1 as opposed to buying one at say lvl 92. is it really worth it to lvl one from 1? lets say hypothetically act 2 defensive.

the mercs stats will change if you raise him from lvl1 he will have more strength and dextairty than if you were to just buy a higher level one exactaly how much different they would be im not positive i believe it is noticable but not killer
