i just looked at the arreat summit site and it said that bnet has tagged like 86,000 diablo 2 accounts using maphack. is there a way Bnet can detect maphack??

A lot of people say no, a lot of people say yea. I got banned and i used it, but I think they just banned random people and i was one of them. To find out if we did they would have to look at every packet of what we do and that would take up to much time for 86000 people does that help at all??

As for MH detection... If you use options like chicken, socket protection, etc, you're gonna get tagged. If you use MH strickly to reveal the map or viewing other peoples gear, you shouldn't get banned.

If my account didnt get deleted, and i use maphack, does that mean i wont ever get deleted or does Bnet only hate the people who use it to chicken or socket protect like what gimmedat said? I only use it to reveal map and look at items, maybe thats why my account is still there or maybe i was just lucky lol!

After reading many posts at other forums I have figured out that you get tagged for Shooting around corners, running straight to bosses, Teleporting through walls, Ect ....

actually they tag a different way now. you'll notice flashes at different times. its their tracer taging the ip to track every moment on the game right. they begin tracking the second you log onto battle.net now since they added an e-mail registry. the mail registry was a bluff. when its registered. it send them the cdkey, ip, registry number and computer registry number to b.net to track each account by systematic procedure.

the password send is automated. they request the account and key and the automated program locates it and sends you the key. the e-mail was listed when you registered the game the first time on blizzards site.
