Hammerdin vs. Lightning Sorc - kgformvp21 - 02-19-2006
In your opinion wut would be a better match for mm.bot (eldrich/shenek/pindle) hammerdin or the lightning sorc?... Wuts quicker and more effective? I am using the hammerdin right now, but would the lightning sorc be better for me to use? And wut is good mf to have for this bot?
Please respond asap.. so i can start a lighting sorc ..

Lightning sorc would be faster. And anywhere around 300-400 MF will be fine.

I'd perfer Light Sorc see how their cast rate is much better than Hammerdin. Also to add to what Kyle said, you don't need a griffon or infinity... you could get a shako and a tomb reaver for you merc and it would all work out fine. also from what i heard mercs get better mf than you do although i'm not sure if it's really true^^

all luck, but ur merc does get ur % magic find. if u equip him with mf% items, he will have more mf than u will. that doesnt mean that he will find better stuff, its still all luck

Ive always prefered hammerdin over sorc. They get it done almost as fast and they withstand a beating better. I havent used mmbot yet though im basin my analasis on d2jsp. I used to run a wind druid hammerdin and firesorc at the same time. They would each do a few bosses then meet up at baal and do a co-op run.

sorc is faster and way cheaper.. full tals and reapers on merc with 98 success rate in a shitty comp botting all night. altho im only doing eldrich pindle.
on the other hand, hammerdin allows you to go to trav... way better/more drops there. less success rate but trav is tough.
id say hammer for trav and sorc for e + p + e

Bad thing about sorc is that your limited to what you can do. Even with infinty they are not immune but got good resistance to your attacks. Thats what made me go hammerdin.

-light sorc: Advantage: faster kill if not immunes
Disadvantage: can't kill immunes or very slow kill with infi
-Hammerdin: Advantage: Kill all major game bosus, nice speed
Disadvantages: non

now don't be stupid, light sorc is really faster only if she has infinity on her merc.. therefore she is more expensive. the most expensive item u need on hammerdin is enigma and u can get bad ones for as little as 6 ists where infinitys are still high price like 8-12 ists. Also a really cheap sorc build will be even slower so plz...

Hammerdin can be cheap. You can substitute hoto for wizspike. Shako is cheap if you dont use hoz use a pally spirit with good resist and bam your in business. The only thing you really need is nigma and once you get that and bot a while the other peices will come. A sorc really needs sojs shako occy coh infinity and all that crap, so in my opinion the hammerdin is actually cheaper to start with.
