I bought CS but the CD-key was already taken when I tried to register it with Steam
but I can't really be bothered sending my CD-key and all that crap back to them to re-register it.

Yeah, but you have to like send your CD-key and a photo or somep form of evidence that you have a Valid HL or CS CD-key and I just can't be screwed.

yeah if someone already registered a key it cant be used. do you know this person? ask him what his steam account and password is and use the account because that account has the key registered to it. dobt worry though in games you can still use whatever name you want

I don't know who the person is as that is a highly unlikelihood, the CD-key was just taken when I tried to register obviously meaning that someone has been a naughty boy or that there was an accidental re-print of my copy.

when you register a cdkey that key stays with your steam account. so if you get his account you get his cdkey

You can try battle.net trade forums,you can get a cdkey for a non ladder sc rune just use a mod for the trade

Yeah,peeps trade runes for cd keys there all the time,dont matter what game it is some peeps buy games an end up not liking them so they sell there keys for d2 items.I traded for working online neverwinter nights keys yesterday on there.
