yeah.. now i see it i think it is bnet because i have a buncha firewalls up (symantic, norton, etc) and i exited a mf game, and then i go to main diablo II screen and i try to log in and it says wrong password. i do password recovery right away and do the email thing (twice) and both times when i reply it fails (some truncheon error) and i can see that nobody is on my account because right after i requested the password recovery i go on my 2nd account in open bnet and myself on my f list is doing nothing. so.. i guess the maphack IS also to blame because it offers no protection ;;>_>
Edit: it also wont let me go in 2nd accts, unless i go into them in open bnet, but it wont let me go in my main one in open bnet.

it is going to be a riot. a lot of people are going to be hella pissed. All the forum sites i've been to have a million posts about this on it. I went to battle.net to see if blizzard had anything to say about it but they don't at the moment. I'm sure that tomorrow when we get online, there will be a huge section on battle.net saying how blizzard has banned thousands of accounts due to easy map.
yes, easy map is to blame because it wasn't protected, but i'm pretty sure that netter did not steal all these accounts, he just didn't offer adequet protection for his program

my account password was "changed" on August 10, 2005 at around 10.30pm EST
LUCKILY i was in a game with the pally and was trying to log on a second new character to rush on a seperate laptop (with different set of cdkeys) so i managed to salvage my items (2x spirit and others) and put them on a new account
HOWEVER, i DID try to recover my password through bnet's automated system (even before seeing this thread) and recieved the following email promptly:

sorry to everyone who couldnt get their items, as well as those to lose their accounts (myself included), but i do think it was battle.net's doing. stupid on our part for using a MH that didnt advertise built-in protection.

I would really like an official count on how many people got their accounts banned, and i know it wasnt easymap stealing passwords, i deleted easymap and changed my password 3 hours before...but still easymap is to blame. blizzard did not set up easy map as a trap....i went on netter's website and he made it and it was clean and supposedly undetectable...however...somepeople have called blizzard's support hotline and asked about the account banning and blizzard told them that they banned accounts because they detected maphack...it wasn't easy map...it was blizzard that banned accounts
