Request Close Button - hit.it - 08-12-2007 Quote:Constructive contribution? What do you ever do besides bitching and spamming? Scroll up 1 post for proof. i do believe he did start this thread.... and i bet he wasnt trying to get flamed because of it. in my opinoin i think that there should be a close button that only the thread starter (and obviosly mods) can use or something Request Close Button - Lux Aeterna - 08-12-2007 Pamela Wrote:ZK~sighs~ You start most of the spam threads here, honestly you do.This is how it works...only a Mod can close a thread in their assigned section. Why is this you may ask? It is simple, they have knowledge of the area assigned to them. Therefore,it is their responsibility to tend to THAT section. I was actually about to flame him Pam, but seeing this I find it far less necessary... Pam, things like this is exactly why I love you.. eek: Request Close Button - FraterPerdurabo - 08-12-2007 hit.it Wrote:i do believe he did start this thread.... and i bet he wasnt trying to get flamed because of it.Flaming? You've got to be kidding me. Request Close Button - BrioCloud - 08-12-2007 FraterPerdurabo Wrote:I know that most of you guys seem to have the contrary opinion, but we do not live in a dictatorship. If someone has something to say, they are more than welcome to post it here, and it is for that very reason that I oppose closing threads. Once again I agree with Frater 100%. People like me have an opinion in many things, and would not like to see threads closed when I have additional information to contribute, or disagree with somebodies views. There has been no flame...yet...trust me...if it starts it will make anything posted so far look like a tea party for barbies and kids playing. ZK I can safely say I highly doubt you will get your close button. Please think harder about a way you can some how possibly gain some form of control here.Get back to us if it is a sensible ,viable suggestion. Request Close Button - Z3R0 - 08-13-2007 I don't want control here. Wait, isn't the title of this catagory I posted this in......why yes, it IS Help and "Suggestions". It was merely a suggestion, no need to be so negative. Yet, that seems to be the only thing people can be here. -shrug- Request Close Button - Pamela - 08-14-2007 Actually help and suggestions is the correct place for this thread...it is your riddle thread that is out of place. You get negative feed back from some and posotive feedback from others ~shrug~ It really depends on their thoughts about your"Help and Suggestions" Opinions seem to vary as to who likes it and who does not.My opinion is that it is redundant, and will have the affect of a reported post. Having a button requesting a closing STILL will not let that person, thread starter or not, close that thread. Request Close Button - Z3R0 - 08-14-2007 There you go with the Riddle thread again. It's Poetry, in method and structure. I don't know why you can't understand it, but yes, that is the absolute correct thread for it to be. Which is why I put it there, and why it is STILL there. The riddle thread should be in Jokes and Pokes, however, your current thread is in the correct place. I do not care if it is in Chinese fortune cookie style,it is STILL a riddle.I don't know why you cant understand THAT. What, specifically,is your ultimate goal in getting a "Close Button"? Other than to make Spit have to do a lot of work? Request Close Button - Z3R0 - 08-15-2007 First of all, a Riddle is Writing. If you can't see that(wouldn't really be suprised), then you need to go through a refreshment course in literature. And also, it isn't a lot of work for something like that. All he has to do is get(get=copy) the stuff straight from VBBulliten and put(put=Cut & Paste) it in the global footer, as a CSS code. But, hey, you know it all so I'll leave you to rant now. Request Close Button - Pamela - 08-16-2007 You still did not answer the question, other than to attempt to insult me...what is the ultimate goal of a close thread button?Because only a Mod can close a thread, and a repoprted post with a request for a closing serves the same purpose. As for writing so is pornographic graffiti on a wall...anything "written" is writing genius. My point is that writing falls into defferent catagories.I find it amusing tat everyone else placed their riddles in Jokes and Pokes(where they belong, since it is ((entertainment)) and you alone feel the need to argue about my pointing this out to you. So to keep you on topic...how will this improve what we already have? Request Close Button - Fuggle - 08-16-2007 Well in his defense, the other riddles are like, I have 3 dogs, you take one how many are left. His are more of a poetic sort. LOL ..ok I will concede they are more like stories and much more sophisticated and interesting...They are still riddles. As for the button ...I still do not think it is a good idea and will be abused. Request Close Button - Fuggle - 08-16-2007 Abused? Like everyone is waiting for the button to come and use it non stop. Request Close Button - BrioCloud - 08-16-2007 Alright I have the button. I'm holding it hostage, nobody is getting it. ![]() Request Close Button - Fuggle - 08-17-2007 Well I mean it's only slightly different from the Report Post button, and the only person who even uses that more than once (More like zero) a month is "John." so as for anything saying it will be abused is just trying to find excuses and can't think of any. Request Close Button - John - 08-17-2007 zerokool just wants some mod powers. next he will request a "ban [named] player" button. he just wants to be a mod i suppose. Request Close Button - Fuggle - 08-17-2007 It's not a Close thread button, it's a Request for Closing of a thread. You attempt to dazzle us with your 1337 persuasion skills and if we agree we shall close it. Well John does report the most, but Zero does his fair share, the rest of them are pretty much done here and there by various members.I just find it ironic how often ZK has spouted that we close too many threads"Just because" and now is requesting a button pointing out threads that in his opinion or anyone elses NEEDS to be closed, instead of just sending a PM to a Mod.rolleyes: On a side note and OFF TOPIC: Why the HELL do I keep getting PMs asking about Dynafrom, why he was banned, and what the story is??? For the record...I don't know!!!! Bug teh cat, overflow Fuggy's box....~sheesh~ Request Close Button - John - 08-17-2007 i only warn those 1 word posters. i hate them all! |
