Roflbeans. If Scientologists went on a crusade, there would be like 50 people(movie stars and their families) dead or going to jail within a short period of time. Then there would be no more Scientology and the world would have one less thing to laugh at. Sad And no more Mission: Impossible movies.

Give it a few years, lol. Their ranks are swelling...

Religious Problems - Nethran - 10-02-2008

Oh, how easily swayed are the masses...

Any religion that can jail a man for a pickit sign or sue TIME WARNER for statements against them is a dangerous religion. I've done my research on the evils of Scientology. Here's a sample of what their all about (not just the Xenu bullshit): The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power - TIME

Also, some religious skeptics may appreciate this movie that's coming out: RELIGULOUS

Pamela Wrote:In te first post your friend said it was Eve eating the apple and them being thrown out?
None of that is correct. She was tempted to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and so did she eat of it and also Adam her husband did eat.

Apple is never in their at all.The sin was disobeying God as their Father. Now man and woman knew good and evil and finding shame at their nakedness did cover themselves.

The bible is a practical guide on how to live life to glorify God. As far as who goes where God has his own plan for it.If you want to find out?? Read the book.

I do intend, and am currently reading the book. The point of this thread is to see others views on the matter as to gain different perspectives.

Also, thanks for you insight Pam. As always, it is very helpfull Smile.

I understand hun. That you value other opinions is good, but keep in mind, your beliefs are EXACTLY that...yours.This is why God encourages us to learn not only of Him,but of all things.Listen with an open mind, but beleive with a steadfast heart.*hug*

Scientology is a cult, not a religion.
You can't buy your way into religion.
Also, while he may sound zealous, those are his views, and you asked for them. Same as my view is that he's delusional, and needs to be able to think instead of blindly accept.
Adults with imaginary friends are stupid.
laugh:

Oh, fantastic. We've talked so much about Scientology that there's now an add on this page FOR scientology.

Anywho... I don't think God is imaginary. I also respect other people's beliefs. Most other people's beliefs.. Satanism I think is childish and irresponisble any which way you try to look at it. Just about everything else, though, I respect. People are entitled to their opionions on the meaning of their lives and beyond, and I wouldn't call them stupid based on believing or lack of beliefs. It doesn't take being Christian to do it. Just common courtesy.

Religious Problems - Frai7ty - 10-04-2008

An add for Scientology? I don't see anyone here advertising for it, or am I just blind?

Anywho I also believe that there is a god. As to what Faith, or Faiths are correct I have yet to find. That's assuming that any of them are at least slightly correct.

Religious Problems - Nethran - 10-05-2008

It was one of the ones that are on the bottom of the page. It said "Scientology What are YOU?" or something like that.

I don't think my problem is religion, but describing what's on my mind:

My Beliefs:
-I believe people have the right to choose their own faiths, and that if their faith guides them in a peaceful direction, it is right for them.

-I believe that religions that push themselves onto other people are dangerous, but not wrong. Sometimes pushing religion on people is good for them, but religion needs to learn to take no for an answer.

-I believe extremists dieing for their religion and beliefs is A OK, but if killing themselves also means killing/injuring others, their religion is flawed.

-I believe that religions that fight about other religions are flawed.

-I believe people should guide themselves in their own direcion. The strongest part of the human body is the mind, emotion controls every action we take, the only reason to exist is to bathe in the ocean of life, swim among the others, and become part of the chaotic mass of waves. For some people, religions are boats that people can climb aboard. Some people are not strong enough to get on, other choose to sink to the bottom. However being beneath the surface does not mean despair, it means open mindness, the right to question, and the ability to stretch. Being part of a religion doesn't necesarily mean that such actions are restricted, but are guided. The people who swim among the surface splash around, stuck somewhere between religious belief and self awareness.

-Whether or not this makes sense... i don't even though... but this is just my attempt of trying to say what comes to my mind Sad
