*All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - splintercell - 07-16-2004 well it depends on the computer. Mine runs norton, 2 firewalls, and all my other programs fine. I only have one antivirus cuz im cheap lol. Im sure if you run both all the time itll kill your cpu speed but you can always have 2 installed one on all the time and schedule the other for a weekly scan. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - Ragnarhox - 07-17-2004 Yeah, before i said that my Norton anti-virus was turning off and i wasnt sure why. it maybe be that i just found a Trojan Horse in my computer when i logged on. But, i went into Safe mode and i think the virus is gone. ill have to check again because my comp is still taking longer to load than it was a week or to ago. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - splintercell - 07-23-2004 The longer loading times could be do to more programs running at startup or the virus. If you have installed anything new in the last 2 weeks they might be the problem. The virus could do it to. As for Norton turning off, I assume you found the way to turn it back on through the options right? And then the virus must have been disabling it before it got the virus out. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - Ragnarhox - 07-23-2004 With the Norton Anti-virus turning off i un-installed it and re-installed it cus it would turn back on...and, recently one of the 'Pop-up" appeard from norton saying somehting about blaster worm(you know how it will say (virus)found, (virus) can not be open, (virus) cant be fixed...but, it was only one pop up and i clicked it away before actually looking at it...then later i was wondering what it said so i tryed to go into the activity og(where it tells you the messages that have appeard) and it says that "Common Client Log Viewer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." then the activity log doesnt open. and any time i try to open it i get the same thing about common client log viewer not working....can you help me fix this problem? *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - Aemaeth - 07-23-2004 Einhander89 Wrote:figures windows is total crap i wish it would be betterWindows works fine for everything i do. i hate it when people blame software when infact its just there hardware and they dont know how to tweak things. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - splintercell - 07-23-2004 I agree Abiosis, but you must admit, while windows may work fine for everything you do, it still is nowhere near as glitch-free as it should be. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - Aemaeth - 07-23-2004 As murderman says. If it aint broke....Tweak it. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - splintercell - 07-23-2004 LOL Yea and if it breaks...tweak more. *All IE (internet explorer) Users Read* - Po_boy - 07-23-2004 Why not tweak it, back it up or break it for fun to have a puzzle to put back together.. |
