why does it ruine it i uped and it drop the d to 541
eth hoz started out at 741 defense i uped it thinking i could get over 800 defense but it droped the defese to 541 so i lost 200 to my defense. also i think i know the answer but it dont hurt to ask can it be down graded back to a normal eth hoz

Upping an eth armor type item will cause it to lose its eth defense bonus. But it will remain eth. This has been a bug since 1.10 was released and has yet to be fixed.
You can up eth weapons and keep the dmg bonus.
