well, if you download base characters from here (http://www.d2sector.net/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=6)
and download hero editor from here
(http://www.d2sector.net/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=12)
and download some items from here
(http://www.d2sector.net/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=7)
you can hack your own items and characters, and tailor them to your eeeevery need!

Actually his post wasn't that long ago so he may very well still be around, just no online for some reason. In any case I would suggest downloading a hero editor and making your own stuff. Works better when you get the hang of it, because you can make stuff how you want it.
