Anyone know if you can do this? I know how to play them double speed on media player and its so funny, but is it possible to save the song permanately like this?

My best guess would be that you would have to have music editing software in order to manipulate it like that.

You can convert the sound file to WAV, then go to Start > Run > sndrec32 and hit OK. Now open up that WAV file that you just converted with the program that just popped up, and in the Sound Recorder program go to Effects > Increase Speed. Then you just need to save the WAV file.

It will be low quality though.

A good music editing and mixing tool is Acid Pro. I had a free version of it a while back but I lost the cd.

Anothe good program for recording, editing, ect would be "Audacity." There's a free download at: http://unc.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/audacity/audacity-win-1.2.3.exe

I remember my bud was recording peoples voices and making them sound all warped. The program was called GoldWave.
