its completely random. maphackers can be banned within 5 minutes up to never.

actually, i think that your cd key should not be able to be banned from their agreement, but the accounts can...

Both your CD key and account can be closed. You're IP can also be banned aswell (for repeat offenders). IP ban is rare. Just hop on over to wal mart and grab a new CD key. Big deal? Nope.
