In response to Foog's (Cynic's) idea, I don't think I added any mana to my light sorc; i just gave my merc an Insight so that should be able to help her out some. So yea, i think i went with Tuna's strategy basically.

Well, my merc went with more of a damaging thing, rather than an insight thing. Since I often encountered lightning immunes, I gave him (Fuggle's) obedience ecryptic and he does very well. So recap: I have plenty of mana and my merc does a lot of damage. Works for me!

on ladder spirit monarch will give you enough mana since it gives over 100, or around 50 energy pts.

1pt in warmth and a insight merc will take you all the way. Even with mf gear, no charms, my sorc gets +9 to skills. So a lvl 10warmth and the insight handle all my mana needs.

I set stats like this:
150 base energy, rest vitality, or 150 base vitality and test energy.
This is because i often use a high level energy shield :p

well a 70-75% absorb on es is good, on my fb sorc i use a 9es memory staff & base skill on es is only 2 & i get 72% es with pluses on it.. so meaning 72% dmg goes to your mana, 28% goes to life so just use this ratio to vary what should be ur life/mana.. so a 1000/3000 life/mana is pretty good with this 28/72 es
