Hey, I was wondering whether it is possible to use an editor that makes a character unkillable? I created a zon that hasnt gotten killed yet.

no. you can make it hard, just not impossible. Traynes the master of defense, ask him about how to never get hit.

Look guyz, there is no real possible way to make a character "Unkillable." I've been hex editing diablo for almost a year now, and so far, even a character with PHYSICAL and ELEMENTAL absorb and 8.4 million health can still be killed. Once you pass a point in hacking, no one really knows what that point is, you character will just randomly die b/c of "Overhacking" in other words, your massivly hacked character can be killed at any time by a Quill Rat in Act 1 Norm. The only way, in theory, to make an immortal character is to have infinate life, more popularly known as negitive life. So far no one can hack their char to have neg life, but still be living in the game. so i dont think it is possible.

Simple solution would be to modifye DAMAGE REDUCE % CAP from current 95 to 100 -do the same for al the elem dam caps(would work in single player and tc/ip games)
Other solution migjht be editing the death sequence--insted of dying your hp fills up or something.
Im not a coder but i belive it is possible, im not so shore it would be worth the effort thou, what would be the fun in it if you cant die.

ok the idea of getting hit and healing is a good one for someone who has never worked with coding before. but you have to realize that the code for battle is unicode, it is used for both monsters and heros. and editing it would, first of all, take for F***ing ever, because the battle codes are soooo extensive and secondly, you couldnt play the game, alll you would do is heal everything you hit. BIG PROBLEM. Now if you did only edit your coding and then JOIN open B-net games, b/c they are based on another guyz computer, then in thoery, it would work, but i dont think the game would even load with that magnitude of change in the coding of the game.

I didnt say i havent worked with code befor, but im not a coder im a modder, however im not talking about making it as a hack(thatts not my thing, i make mods-patches), anyway the offsets for dmg-reduction has already been located in 1.10 so it wouldnt be to hard to do it i would think, unless im missing something(havent looked deep in to this).
About healing when getting hit, this can and has been done by simple txt editing so we could make an aura skill that heals you when getting hit. Ofcourse al players in the game would need to have the same mod installed and dueling would be a bit weird sense nobody could die.

I just remembered something
ThereĀ“s a killable row in monstats.txt, if this column is left empty hen the monster cant be killed, like npc for example. Now we could make a new monster that looks like the character, and leave killable column empty, then make a state that morges your character in to this monster, aplye the state to a aura,, and when aura is active your immortal.

Ok dude u go for it, and when im old and gray and diablo 2 and maybe 3 are all dead and i have a white beard, maybe then youll be invincible. Y?? B/c you cant do that, the game wont let you, you cannot confuse moding and hacking, mod'ers get to D*ck around with existing code, hackers make their own. two different worlds, and you are right you could make a mod to do it, but what good would it do, every 1 has to run it, BORING

Theres a realy cheap way of doing it hehe get tserch and lock the health line. bam no health lost (dosnet work on the realms but it mite on open and defnetly dose on sp) if u dont know what the hell im talkin about msg me and ill tel u
