[indent]Diablo II Accounts Closed - Nebu

We have just closed more than 36,000 accounts for cheating on Battle.net. More than 28,000 CD keys tied to these accounts have been disabled from Realm play on Battle.net for one month, and more than 3,000 CD keys have been permanently disabled from Realm play due to repeat offenses. Please see the Battle.net FAQ for details on our anti-cheating procedure. As a reminder, the Battle.net news window that Diablo II players see after logging in has had a long-running warning against the use of hacks, clearly indicating that if we detect that cheating is taking place, the offending accounts may be closed without notice and the CD keys tied to these accounts may likewise be disabled without notice. Today’s account closures reflect our zero-tolerance policy against cheating, as well as our effort to prepare the Realms for the new ladder season. We appreciate the support of the thousands of legitimate Diablo II players in helping us keep Battle.net a secure and fun place to play Blizzard games..............."at least your cd-key isnt a perma ban"

PREpare? To late, level 90's already. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them used ezm at some point.

Could this mean the end of all Hacks on B.net ?

When were the last people banned because of Mh?
Could there be an link between EasyMap and Ban (For sure there is one, but i mean that collaborated with easymap designer?)

By his previous account stealing antics Netter already showed that he didn't care much about other people. He probably assumed that Blizzard wouldn't do much against cheaters this time either and wanted to release the first MH before the new ladder, instead of waiting and testing until he was certain it was undetectable. Maybe he even did it because he wouldn't mind seeing a whole lot of people get rocked.

I strongly doubt though that he has any ties whatsoever with Blizzard, as Blizzard fires employees caught cheating, and therefor probably wouldn't condone stealing accounts by employees either.

People have been banned for MH/Bots/Duping/whatever and people kept on coming back and cheating and hacking again in every possible way. The new ladder has already been flooded with duped runes and stuff, and as that concerns a private dupe they have not taken any action against it.

They have not acted against Blizzhackers and sites like that when they posted lots of D2 hacks, nor when they posted WoW hacks. Only when it threatens WoW more seriously they acted (private servers for WoW meant people didn't need a monthly subscription, and the mass duping that was possible was messing up the economy when it was made public). They are not going to put tons of people on D2 now to try and make it hack-free, although they may try so in the future with DIII. They will go for the most obvious cheats though, especially the public ones.

i got banned yesterday and i only used easymap hack for like a day. as soon i read some of the stuff here about it i got rid of it. so i guess it dont matter if you used it once or several times your account and cd key is history. as soon as they come to your name in the logg maybe i dont know but i got hit big time.some really good stuff with really good characters oh well. im having more fun on open bnet then i ever did on closed bnet people help you more and are more friendly plus my char that i made is saved on my computer. not on bnets bull#@&* laggy server.................if you hack even once you gotta be ready to pay the price!!!!!!!!

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - The Mob - 08-13-2005

reading about all of these makes me worry about other programs such as d2loader. this is not a hack or anything, but were people banned for using d2loader? and is it safe to use when you have no other choice? (my main file is corrupted so i need to use d2loader as a replacement)

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - Holocaustic98 - 08-13-2005

I have no idea i just think thats bnet is taking the mh situation a little 2 serious. oh well if people use it. i mean all of the blizzard employees must have access 2 it. so blizz stfu and let us it

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - The Orgasmatron - 08-14-2005

Easymap had no anti-detection methods...plus it had a keylogger. So I think it is better that the accounts got shut down rather than the keys and accounts stolen by someone else.

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - PantallicA - 08-14-2005

People were banned for using d2loader as well. I wouldn't suggest using it.

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - The Orgasmatron - 08-14-2005

Damn, they are wiping out everything aren't they...

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - volcom - 08-14-2005

d2loader is soo important. they call that a hack? gimme a break!

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - Holocaustic98 - 08-16-2005

d2loader is one of the things that d2 like NEEDS its like crack 2 crack heads like cmon. if we dont get d2loader were gonna go postal and if its a hack. im gonna hack. they wont stop me. and if they shut me down. i will go postal

announcment by blizzard about ban accounts - Mr Blaine Ng - 08-16-2005
