Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - k_dash22 - 03-07-2004

Hi all. This is my first time creating a zoonecro... And what fun!

I have finally mastered raise skeleton and skeleton master as well as raise skeletal mage [which was probably a bad idea]. Now i am upto creating a golem.

Until i get enough information, i will only be using a slvl1 iron golem + might merc, with available SP going into Golem mastery.

The debate of all time i want to pose to you is WHAT the **** is the better golem?

FIRE <---> IRON

In hell, looks like 30-50% of the monsters are fire immune which makes the fire golem useless [not to mention expensive at higher level].

Thorns merc, does not stack with iron golem [from what i hear which is a bummer].

help me out- in turn help future zoonecro's out.

I use golems as a distraction and as an extra tank, so I only have 1 point each in clay, blood, and iron golem as a prerequisite to the 1 point in revives. The 1 point in golem mastery works fine for me. Most of the time, I use the clay golem. He dies pretty often, but I just recast him over and over again at low mana cost. The slowing effect from the clay golem along with a few ice mages works great. Throw decrepify into the mix and the monster will hardly move.

Between fire and iron golem, I prefer the iron golem. I like to make the iron golem out of stuff that I don't need. Crafting the iron golem makes the game more interesting and fun. Like earlier today, I made an iron golem out of a magical pally shield which had 500+ defense and 40 resist all. Are you tired of seeing those IK Mauls? You know what to do with them. Having the iron golem is like having a 2nd merc.

thanks for that...

seeing as its summon based- i'm investing my 2nd last lot of skill points into golem mastery. Yeah- i figured that iron would be better because there are lot of fire immune monsters in act4/5 hell.

Thanks for the info

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - k_dash22 - 03-28-2004

well it is a summon build... and in comparison to revives...

sure, i can get multiple revives to 1 golem, but the golem doesn't require any corpse... and the AI of the revives arn't too sharp. I've deciede to go with iron golem anyways, i cann't afford a maxed fire golem anyways [mana wise- it only allows me to cast one every 10 secs or something. combining that with how many skels i have to summon, stuff it]

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - dragonXX - 03-30-2004

use mostly revies not too many skeles and max 1(did I say 1 ) golem and put some int o the others to make it good and a bak up incase u dont have any corpses

Guyz, the best kind of Zoonecro (in my opinion) is one that has the following attribs. First of all you really dont need to have warrior skeletons, they suck major A**. but definatly get the magi and then max out revive. as far as a golem goes, i like to use a high lvl Blood G, they dont do that much damage, but the have a SH** load of HP and they get back over 100% of it when they hit. i cant remember the exact #'s i think a high lvl golem with high mastery is like 6K hp and 145% stole upon hit. If you dont like to use a blood golem b/c of their weak damage, then definatley go with the iron golem. i dont favor them as much but fire golem sucks in Hell diff

it doesn't leech 140% of it's hp when it strikes lmao... it gets 140% leech of it's dmg.. and like you said nobody likes bgolem because of weak dmg.. so basically it sux... lol plus it's dangerous the whole sharing life thing... i'd say iron golem just because their thorns effect can handle any monster in the game if you think about it... as long as you max him and have at least 1 into golem mastery so you can get your +skills advantage for life... he's good 2 go... his hp would be the only thing keeping him from raping any melee monster...

ok.....

leach is good and u need golems and some type of things that take up corpse thats all i got

im emtpy 4 necros now

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - Carnifex - 04-22-2004

if you want to do well in hell your going to want revives they may only last for 3 minutes but with skel mastery maxxed they have twice the life and do 4 times the damage of their original form throw in an amp or decrepify and that turns to 8 times the damage of the creature you slayed things die so much faster that way =P good luck with your build

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - Clifor - 04-22-2004

word is on the diabloii.net forums clay golems make the best tanks due to their high defense/life and their ability to slow opens by XX%

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - Lycshiftz - 04-22-2004

Blood Golem cause of life steal... if it still has it...

Zoonecro- Which golem to support skeletons? - Shihan - 04-22-2004

I like to keep either a clay or iron golem around, but switching to a fire golem when entering an area with lots of mobiles that use fire damage.
