how do i skip playing sc and play hardcore. i don't have a box to check hardcore so? i jsut installed the game

i believe that you have to kill baal (or diablo if ur using Classic D2), and get to nightmare. then you will be able to play hardcore in the future for any characters that you make.

yea, basically i wanted to get around all that hastle. ive beaten the game but i don't wana do it in softcore again. i know theres a way to bypass it because ive done it b4. i just don't remember how i did it or what patch i used or whatnot. any more suggestions ? thnx
