Whats best for a light sorc : Lidless or spirit???
Some says lidless, cause spirit requires to much str! + it increases the maximum mana by 10% + gives 10 energy and u get a free socked, also has 20% fcr - ( put in sur, gives 50 mana )
som says spirit cause 2 skillsl and about 25-35% fcr and 90-100 exstra mana...
U loose 106 stats if using spirit... 106 stats = 212 mana ( with out items, much more with items )
So in all by using spirit u loose in mana: about 300-400 mana .. but u gain +1 skill more and + 15 more fcr, but is it worth that much mana?? help me out!
Remember mana, is like hp for a lightning sorc!

im not sure... cause u loose about 300-400 hp, remember its not all about dealing damage.... ur hp is important....

aight dude u fergot a few things about spirit which are an Extreme importance.... The resistances and the Vitality, Spirit=22 vit 100 mana like 35 all resis except fire or somin, 2 skill, faster fcr.... it is worth it... even though u have to add str, there is the anni n torch. and are u rich enuf to get 9 light gc? cause if not u can also use str charms..... 5str Lcs... anyways spirit wins the race....

Well, it can depend on what type of lite sorc you are. If you are say an ES sorc, who needs to dump lots of points into energy, it may not be as good to be putting points into strength to use a Spirit. However, if you are using just a regular lite sorc (lite/****e + synergies basically and other important stuff) then you do not even need to be putting points into energy and can therefore split it up between the str that u need for Spirit, dex for whatever you need for gear if you need any, that you need and rest into vit. My ladder2 sorc ended up using a Spirit and i think i still had 400 into Vit; other gear can make up for your weaknesses which is what i did. Note that Spirit also has 35% of 3 diff resists that can help a little, as well as 55% fhr. And with the fcr, the way I see it is the faster your casting the spells, the faster they'll fall and won't be able to get you. Since lightning is a ranged spell, hopefully the monsters won't get too close to you, and if they do just tele a little bit and continue casting your spells.

hmmmm guys..... im a ES sorc, res doesnt matter at all..... when using ES res dont count.... so its like saying what is most important 435 mana ( did it on a calculator ) or +1 skill more and +15% fcr more + 55 fhr...... tell opinions again..... i really need to be a 100% sure that spirit is a WAY better choice... and btw. when i say u loose 106 stats, i included perf. torch + perf. anni :S
ohh and btw. i have 9 light gc's, so no room for str charms :S

For the first thing, im not sure why a lightning sorc would use lidless, either ss or spirit monarch. To explain that just think of stats, people now ask too much questions without thinking.
What are you gonna do with a socket in lidless? Add a ber, i doubt it. Let's say um/p diamond. Pretty obvious? Spirit gives way more resist than um'd lidless. Now look at mana, a lightning sorc should add energy, which means a % should give alot to the base mana. But you should already be using frostburns, not magefist or anything even for the cast.
The spirit gives you fcr, resist, block, mana, life, and allows you to continue with frostburns.
Lidless gives less fcr, no life, mana, less resist, less fcr, and lets you use magefist.
So which is better, i say spirit, first of all losing 100 stats is weird for a fire/lightning sorc, not sure why you wouldn't use ss in the first place, but if you like spirit/lidless then yes, your losing 100 stats. But spirit gives about 80 life and 100 mana. So that pretty much makes up the 100 stats for a lightning sorc.
Conclusion: Ss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....or spirit.

SPIRIT OR STORMSHIELD either are good on a sorc, and u dont lose 100 stats....... use dusk coh high torch and anni 10 str scs imps and sloop or something, wit imps dusk coh 1sloop 10 str scs 20stat torch/anni u need like 53 base str...... thats it
lidless should stick to second wep along wit Cta, thats all its good for.. good enuf of a answer?

i play Europe non ladder, u cant get imps..... and coh sux for sorc, no fcr at all! and i did include perf. anni + torch so yes u loose 106 stats!

like alf said.... better charms
teehee lol and the 55 fhr which i dint mention does matter, dude its so worth it for the skill n fcr.... and the mana n life.... because the mana/life adds the points pretty much back.... and then there is the fhr/skill/fcr to add to that, only thing that lidless Has on the spirit is the Def, and that hardly matters on a sorce ....... dude just believe me

156(spirit)-20(torch)-20(anni)-20(10x 2str scs)-5(maras)=91! then if u use perf treks thats like 15 more str
76base str+20(anni)=96+20(torch)+20(10x str scs)=136+15(treks)=151+maras=156!
so 91 BASE STR AT THE MOST if u dont use treks and sorces have what? 10-15 base str to starT? so thats 81 str at the most that u put into strength.

..Spirit easily dominates over Lidless, there is no contest. Although it doesn't give as much mana, and Spirit has a high strength requirement, every other aspect of Spirit basically dominates Lidless, and when all else fails bug it! Or can you not do that anymore? Havn't played since 1.10.
