Does life and mana steal and life tap work with missile weapons, pala hammers and other distance spells?

mostly life and mana steal only works for physical attacks, not magic. there4 since hammers r magic, it wont leech. but missles are physical so yes. Of course u can always use that paladin skill, redemption, which u gain life and mana from corpses.

life tap is the same as life leach only its a curse all the same propertys aply as life leach

you guys obviously havent tried what youre saying doesnt work you should really try something before you comment on it yes life leech does work with blessed hammer go try it and then tell me im wrong.....:mad: grr lol

life tap does work on duels, u gain life from the person/monster who is cursed with life tap. draculs and exile have life tap on them and the necromancer can learn that skill. But u can only use life tap from a physical attack. magic attacks wont work. life tap works good with zealers mostly and it can be useful with smiters cause then they can take down uber tristram.

I thought hammers did more than just magic dmg?

yes they do and life leech not life tap i dont know about life tap but life leech from items does work with hammers why do you think hammerdins like bk ring? because it has life leech LIFE STEAL WORKS WITH HAMMERS go try it for yourself

hammers are magic damageand only magic damage. Thats why its called magic hammer.

digimortal you do not know what your talking about.
life steal, mana steal, and life tap all work ONLY with a melee attack (physically hitting some1 with a weapon, or shooting them with an arrow or bolt). the only exception to this is life/mana steal dont work with smite, but life tap does.
any magical or elemental attack (hammer/bonespirit/foh/etc.) does NOT work.

dude i was just doing countess summoner and nihlathak runs when i came do this site and saw the question so i went back and looked and my main attack is set to blessed hammer so that is all i was doing and those red and blue swirls above your characters head that shows that youre stealing their life and mana was there so go do it and see for yourself it does work with blessed hammers

life leech/mana leech : onlyworks 4 physcal attacks not magic or elemental
life tap: = a curse that any char can use if their melee attack triggers itor they have "charges"

at the bottom, blizzard says that

At first I also thought BH is magical.. but seems this is not the case.

The BN Paladin Combat skill page says that BH has synnergies that adds Magic Damage, but it never says whether the base BH damage is physical or magical.. Maybe that's the perception which we thought BH is pure magical.

it says that bone spirit is physical. but i dont see where it says that bh is..
from what i get from that quote.. RIP doesnt work for magical damage EXCEPT bh, meaning that bh is magical.

i'll just test this out w/ hero editor. I'll make an item that gives a crapload of life leech and stick it on an hdin w/ low life. If life leech does work for BH, my life will spike up.
