recently i just traded for a ber rune on uswest ladder
but this morning it went poof
so wondering if there is any method to determine if an item or rune is duped?
also if i am so unlucky to get another duped rune, how can i make it perm?
does things like socketing it immediately or selling to npc then buying back work?

well usually almost all hi runes are duped.. i guess one method u could do to see if its duped is leave the game and see if it poofs hehe. But to perm, just before you leave the game trade with someone and then right when the trade screen comes up close and then exit the game

correct me if im wrong but i read somewhere in this forum that you gotta do the trade screen/exit thing everytime u enter a game is that true?
also is there any other ways to perm the items or runes?
something else also struck my mind if u put a duped rune into socket to make a runeword will the item poof?

yes you have to do the trade screen/exit every time you leave a game
two other options are
Leave the hr on a mule that hardly joins any games with other people that way the hr's id wont be matched with another causing it to dissapear.
another way is to socket it once you insert into a socketable it wont disappear

then how about selling the rune to npc then buying it back?
will it change the id of the rune?
regarding the matching id part is it once that 2 runes or items with same id appears, battlenet will delete 1 of them?
or is it when battlenet scans the realm for duped items then they will delete?
if so any idea how often they scan the realm?

that would realy suck if ur exile was to poof because one of the runes u used to make it was duped, thank god that dosent happen

ok im only about 85% positive on this
but yes bnet will delete them if they have the same id
and also i think blizzard scans you every time you leave a game
oh and dont sale runes to npc's i dont think that helps

socketing the runes will perm them yes. once it is socketed it creates a new id for the weapon/armor its socketed too and therefore the dupe no longer exists its just a description added to your socket.
