Saying goodbye to maphack... - Gemquist - 10-08-2005

I guess someone should make this kinda of post... With mousepads not fully undetecable yet, and netter easyban being... well, just that, I guess I'm saying goodbye to the world of easy mfing and mhing to make the game easier. All those meph runs......... Going through all the quests......... Always knowing where the waypoints and next levels were............... Its been real. Maphack, I salute you! *Salutes* And ya, this topic is pretty pointless. Tongue What I'm trying to say is I, for one, am done with mhing, its not that hard to play the game without it. So long to another crutch that holds so many of us back. Anyone else want to salute maphack and wave it goodbye? Because something tells me that we arent going to be using it like 08 and 09 for a very long time.

Nah, I can live without it, but i'd rather play with it. I don't like using EasyMap, but Netter is the only person with a working MH at the moment. I do think though, when MH came out, it spoiled us all in thinking we cant play without it and i dont think that. I just think the game is much more enjoyable with Maphack.

Naw it's not out of the picture just yet, although it seems like it is it's still got a few more chances. At least give mousepad just a little while longer, I'm not saying for sure its comming, but I have a good feeling it's still got life.

Listen to my theory. Basically, I believe that Blizzard has given up on catching maphackers in Diablo II, why?

Because:
I remember that when I got banned with the first version of Easyban, it was only ladder characters that got banned. Therefore, it means that Blizzard wanted to provide "fair competition" for the people that wanted to reach the top of the ladder legally. If You remember, various programmers claimed a while ago that Warden had "fallen back" to a less active self, meaning that once lvl 99 had been reached on all the ladders, Blizzard didn't give a damn any more. Otherwise, why would they wait for 1.11 and new ladder season to introduce the new Warden? I believe that once a decent maphack comes out (from what I hear, Sting's), then it should be allright to use it, since You are not exactly ruining the competition for fair players. Also, You don't get banned if You play on open, yet it's still Bnet, furthermore helping my theory...

Please post what You feel about this.
