People say if u wanna hack into people's account,u need their email.Then u press forgot pw and chnage their registered email to urs...They also say it can be tracked down easily.....
May i know how do they track me/us/them down?And who is going to track us/them/me down?blizz or the victim?

This was a method used when Blizzard first released 1.10, and has been patched. How the "hacker" would do it was make an account identical to the account they wanted to hack, but on a different realm. Then they would request an email change. When bnet sent them an email that they had to reply back to, to verify the change; they would change the heading that went something like this: accountname.useast < [email protected] > to accountname.uswest < [email protected] > therefor telling the bnet server that the account on west wanted to change the email to the one specified. Once the email was changed, they did a password recovery. Didn't take a genius to think up of this one.
How was it patched???? - Blizzard now puts code at the bottom of each email, that contains coded information containing information about the email.

Who ever has to hack to get better is a fag who should burn in hell....What would you do if someone hacked into your account and stole everything you had would you be ****..(i think sooo)....

good thinking but u will need to have his/her email password in order to confirm the pw change u make.

okok....if someone changes my registered email to theirs and press forgot pw.....and after they got my account,stole everything,deleted all my characters before i know,wont it be too late?So what if blizz found out?He has all my stuffs...and i dun think they can undo his changes....

They have enough things to do without writing a program so that every person who has been scammed or lost their account gets their items back... Blizz does squat about scammers, how would you prove that you had been scammed or cheated? Everybody would claim for items if that worked. However, I did hear about a case where a CD-key was stolen, and the rightfull owner sent the original cd and the purchase reciept to Blizzard by snail mail. Apparently the stolen account was banned and Blizz gave the guy a new cd-key, but then again that could be BS.
ITH, they made D2 by programing, so that when we play and complete a series of commands (i.e. kill a monster), items spawn. Those same commands still have to be executed by a blizz employee so that the items will spawn, unless they write a "hack" of their own to make items of their choice spawn without having to play the game, but as I said above, I really don't think they spend their time doing that. Blizz only intervenes if people start messing with the performance of their servers, cos that affects them at work too. If anybody can prove that Blizz has actually replaced items that a scammer supposedly stole, I will gladly eat my words...
