Wuthering Heights - [/sarcasm] - 11-17-2005 I was assigned to read this book for my 10th-grade English II class. Really, I thought it would turn out to be a bore like Jane Eyre or just something I didn't want to read, like Great Expectations. Nah. Didn't turn out that way. Essentially, I ended up reading all of it (save for about 40 pages I'm going to get done sometime this week) and I thought that it was a great book. Unfortunately, this is probably the most depressing books I have ever read, with all the dying and hate going on, it almost leads me to believe this book is just terrible. Almost. Instead, I believe that it made the book even better, bringing me to feel for some of the characters, even though I'm a testosterone-driven male who enjoys mauling people in FPSes much more than sitting down in a quiet environment reading a (gasp!) book. Really, the point of this thread is to collect information, but I kinda got off on a ramble. So anyways... What did you guys think of it? Any key points that didn't happen in the last fourty pages that you actually liked? Also, don't post if you haven't read the book. Don't just say "omg, i nvr red it, lolol." |
