HEY im a fire sorc, i just restarted a week ago today, all accounts expired. lvl 83 sorc at the moment, us west NL. anyways, i got an Act 2 Def Merc because supposedly it could gain the holy freeze aura. i didnt believe so at first cuz ive been playin for years and never noticed it, but i looked it up in the handy D2 Strat Guide and sure enuf it says:
"The guardsmen in act ii may be equipped only with spear or javelin class weapons. if they are labeled Combat, they use the jab attack; if they are labeled Defense, they use the Defiance aura; and if they are labeled Offensive, they use the Blessed Aim aura. Defensive Guardsmen also get Holy Freeze and Offensive Might Once they reach higher level"
so i was just wondering...my merc is level 80 right now and still does not have holy freeze. does anybody know what level he needs to be b4 he can use it?!?!?!

you need to hire it from act 2 nightmare to get holy freeze, not normal.

mine is from nightmare so either its not high enuf level or...u dunno what ur talkin about

itm wont activate till he gets hit, take the merc outside and get him hit by a monster. And if he has defiance its a normal merc not a nightmare, they only have 1 aura.
