How To X-fer Safely - TroGdoR - 03-26-2004
Well I know from personal experience and from hearing about it that everyone has made bad mistakes with x-ferring. Well I'm posting these few tips for anyone who hasn't figured out how to transfer items safely.
Tips:
1. JOin a Normal game!!(usually the game will consist of people who are low levels, if there are lvl 60 and above chars, leave the game)
2. Make sure the game you join has been around for a long while. If it is newly made and u x-fer with people in there and they leave before u come back, say goodbye to ur items. The game must be running for at least 7 minutes.
3. Some good safe games to x-fer in are usually title "Act 1 Norm" "Act 2 Norm", "Norm Act 2", etc...
4. Now the big question is: where can u x-fer safely? I find a great place to be in act 4, walk down the steps and go along the edge and drop items somewhere down there. But Make sure nobody is in town while u do this cuz they will see u down there. Another good place would be right outside the gates of harrogath, well of course not right outside, but walk out and go to the left or right for a bit and ur safe. Once again make sure u arent seen.
If u follow these steps u wil pull off a successful x-fer 99percent of the time. And remember to never trust a friend unless u live near the kid and cant beat his *** if he steals from u.

hehe tats a weak x-fer method..you could just make a game..wait 5 minutes rejouin to make sure its still up...then xfer and come back..thats the best way to go if you dont have a friend because as long as you stay in the game for 5 minutes it will remain up for another 5-6 minutes

When I transfer, I usually find a game where people are in anything higher then Act 2. After finding a game I take whatever I want to be transfered to just bit outside of Blood Moor. This usually works since not many people doing Act 3, 4, ect. don't go down to Blood Moor.

First of all, its now 7 minutes for those who said 5...Another thing is i dont wanna take any chances of making a game leaving after that and having the realm down for a bit...I believe u have a better chance of joining a game like the ones i mentioned where the people will be playing for a long while.

Well i alwayz do 5 mins not 7. Well if you get realm down you're joining the Act 2 Now games for xfering is still bad...Because the game could get full then you cant get in and you'll have to keep trying to join and that gets annoying and they might all leave (when they finish the act) while your realm is down so the game closes...also some people might be doing the same thing as you so they could find your items too. I know that when i see a high lvl char that doesnt want to join they are either xfering or mfing and in norm its most likely xfering so i go looking
(like easter egg hunting). I think the safest is just making your own game and waiting.But its whatever floats your boat and tickles your pickle

Seems like everyones giving their tips on how to xfer away...could be a bad idea dont ya think? the more people who know about your xfer techniques the less safe it is right? and one thing i always do is if i'm xferring solo i dont xfer everything at one time..just in case realm goes down i dont lose everything all at once...

y dont u just xfer by urself? make a game w/ a pw and rejoin with a mule. it always works for me. just dont take too long, 30 seconds is long enough to drop like 5 items

As For this, i must ask you who here is gonna find out who you are, what games you join, etc. And as for my method, it always works for me, and its the most effective for people who have a zero patience level :p

that time i made a game (pw) with my mule and dropped my items.....after bout like 5 mins.....i left the game and immediately rejoined with my main and wanted to take the items....but the game didnt existed....liek that i lost my jalal and bartucs....

Here's how I xfer. I join a public game with my mule named, "NotAMule," and yell to everyone, "I'M NOT A MULE AND I'M NOT TRANSFERRING!!!" I wander around Blood Moor for about 30 seconds, drop off my stuff, leave the game, rejoin with my other character and find punks looting my items and exiting the game right away as I approach them. Oh wait, that method never works...
