Monitior Lights - visionzstyle - 03-04-2006 Hi,iv'e been trying to bot for about a week now and everytime i turn on my bot and go to bed, the next morning i wake up and it's off.I then realized my dad turned it off because " it causes to much radition ".So the next day i tried to cover it put my bed sheet but he found out anyhow. So my question is, is there ANY way to have the bot running and turning off the power on light button mad: ? ~Thanks in advance. Monitior Lights - Shift - 03-04-2006 I run mine with the moniter off, so yours should work with it off too. Monitior Lights - visionzstyle - 03-04-2006 no i mean the computer not the mointior ( screen ) Monitior Lights - Shift - 03-04-2006 Well the title says "Monitior Lights", so i figured thats what you ment. But I don't know what you mean by the computer lights, do you mean the little greenish light? Because you have to have that on or the computer is off, which wouldn't work. Monitior Lights - Venom - 03-04-2006 well you could open it up and remove the light but olny do that if you kno how or just put some tape oven the light/light's but wutsa with your dad and radition crap? Monitior Lights - visionzstyle - 03-04-2006 No i mean the power button on the computer and sorry about the title i got confused with computer and monitior. And i wanna try opening it up but im scared i might screw it up Monitior Lights - payne - 03-05-2006 grab a permanent marker cover the light. He'll probably never notice and if he does it wipes right off the light. don't get it on the case though Monitior Lights - commandwolf - 03-05-2006 yeah but problem is that computers usually make some noise when running. Monitior Lights - Halcyon - 03-05-2006 Wait wait wait. Your dad thinks that the light on the computer is too bright, so he turns if off. Cover it with something thick and small. Put duct tape on it, there is no need for you to open the computer up. If you are talking about the button and it has lights on it, then you can still put tape on it, or put like a binder in front of it. The noise problem can be solved with a thick sheet around it. I'm guessing the computer is in your fathers bedroom? Monitior Lights - The Mob - 03-05-2006 its really easy to remove the light... simply just unplug it. ill explain. in all computers there are wires leading to the front of the case that control the power button, reset switch, HDD light, and power light. open up your computer and trace the wires that are leading from your green led. trace them to your motherboard. if you have a costom built computer, just unplug it from your motherboard. it will not mess anything up. if you bought your pc from dell or whatever, you probably cant unplug just the wire, it is probably set in with everything else. unplug that. the only problem with this is that you have to manualy jump the computer now b/c you would have removed the power button. jump the computer by simply takeing a screw and touching the pins on your motherboard. (remember the location of the pins that lead to the lights etc, before you remove them) BUT..... how on earth will your dad not find out that it is on???? is your computer really that quiet?!?!?!?! if so.. SWEET Monitior Lights - DaRkStAr - 03-05-2006 take a picture of your tower so its easier to see waht to do Monitior Lights - XxDarkAcexX - 03-05-2006 Wheres your copmuter... see my moms like that but i shut off the moniter, and i jus say that the led light is because its on hibernate... nd that the cmoputer is off... and its on but my computer IS that quiet =D Monitior Lights - Halcyon - 03-05-2006 A lot of computers are that quiet. I run GW's, Diablo 2 and iTunes and you cant hear it over a quiet TV (But the computer takes forever to load....) Monitior Lights - The Mob - 03-05-2006 ok back to his question guys.. we will assume that it is quite enough. just unplug the wires leading from the front of your case to your motherboard. Monitior Lights - visionzstyle - 03-05-2006 alright so i just opened my computer case and located the power button to the inside and i realized there were a couple of wires i think about four one yellow, one red,one blue iono forgot, but anyway it traced that and i saw it on some little plug like thing that was connected to my mother board. So i kept trying to take out that plug like thing but i figured it was connected so i didn't know what to do from there so im here asking. p.s my computer wasn't custom made. Thanks in advanced and sorry for the late post And i tried covering it thounds of times with bed sheets, books, and some other objects but some how he finds out =/ Monitior Lights - Halcyon - 03-06-2006 Hmmm, well if he doesn't want the computer on Period, then your in no luck. Just bot when your at school or during the middle of the day when you dad isnt home. At night would be best but it doesn't really matter. Monitior Lights - DaRkStAr - 03-06-2006 isnt it obvious your covering up your computer? Monitior Lights - Halcyon - 03-06-2006 Ya, if your dad doesnt want you botting, covering the computer up is just making it stand out. Monitior Lights - Venom - 03-06-2006 visionzstyles did you ever try the tape idea? so far it seems that u are using large stuff to cover it up, no wonder he knows that it is on lol , just try and tape over all the lights and see what happens if it fails then do what olny said Monitior Lights - visionzstyle - 03-06-2006 Well venom that does sound like a good idea consedering the fact that i want to bot at night and the black duck tape will cover it and camoflauge kinda. |
