You can make a Might A2 Merc with that Pride or w/e Polearm that adds Convic for the best dmg.

if not ur not v/t go with might merc with pride, it will really boost ur damage to the max

Theoretically, you can bug a merc up with auras so much that it would kill everything in Tristram in one blast. Do give that a try and tell me how it goes.
Otherwise, I suggest holy freeze merc.

Go with act2 might and pride for most damage, conviction for the -defense, the merc aura stacking idea is interesting, but wouldn't work if your pure smiter plus conviction wouldn't work on all of the minions wouldn't it? I know that infinity doesn't always get rid of immunities so would a pallies conviction work?
