Hi i was wondering if more mf was better if i was mfing myself. i am a fire sorc and i kil meph. this is what i use...
Helm- Ptopazed Shako
Ammy- Tals ammy
Wep1-Occy
Sheild1- Lidless
Wep2-2 isted ali baba
sheild2-4isted monarch
Armor-Ptopazed Tal armor
Gloves-40% chance guards
Rings-2 perf nagels
Belt-Tal belt

Then i got about 25 7%mfsc
My total mf is around 803. i was wondering if i should take it down a little bit? i heard people saying 200-300 is for the good stuff. and i heard people say "ohh i got over 1k mf and i get good shit all the time" SO i was wondering if i shoud take my mf down a little or leave it thanks

The consensus is more is better. Every reputable source I have checked says the same. However there are lots of threads saying people get better drops at lower levels. A lot of it depends on luck. I think you have a better chance at being lucky with higher mf. If you want try running meph a number of time with all your mf and with only 250. Make sure you do it enough times switching back and forth to make it representative. I would go with at least 15 of each, 30 each would be even better.

Will he still have enough killing power for hell mfing with sword? I suggest ocy with Ist, it has enough MF and really helps when other MF equipments do not give you enough power. If you can MF faster by killing faster with an Ocy, the extra MF from a sword might not be enough to balance.
The highest MF you can get while still having killing power is your best option. Do note that MF is on a sliding scale, you get nowhere near the boost from 200-500 as you do from 0-100. And 500+ the rate of MF\Chance increases even more.

well with that equip i have i do 15k meteor damage. that is pretty good, i can kill meph in about 15 seconds. i just dont get anything good. i get uniques alot but they are always junk uniques. like really low level stuff. id say the best thing i have got is a occy.

With all do respect making a magic find sorceress is a bad idea.
My paladin, which has an MF percentage of about 240, has found a CoA doing Baal, 2 SoJs, 1 Arach, and many other high value rares.
But, if you insist I would have to agree with Freak. The 6-isted sword adds 180% to your Magic Find total and you could still use occy as a first weapon but deliever the final blow with your MF gear.

well if all u do is meph than dont expect too many godlys, he cant drop that many godlys. Pindle is a good alternative. With 800 mf and maybe a bot ud be rich in one night, and ud have gained a bunch of levels

well the mmbot i hear works but it doesnt do meph and andy which i always do. My blizz mf sorc only does andy and meph she has 325 mf and she doesnt finds lots of night mare uniques like occy and gores and such and every now and then she will find valuable uniques like bk ring and hoz which are not elite but they are valuable. I would like to know what mf finds most elites although im pretty sure its just luck.

mmbot is good for Pindle, Eldrich, Shenk and Trav if you are up to it. I am not sure what kind of sorce you made (I think fire?) so just make sure you are not doing an immune boss or you merc is tough.
You can find the mmbot download in the download section. It is easy to set up and use if you are patient and read the directions. There are also a ton of posts here with help too.

i recommend a light sorc for mmbot, theres less immunes.
unless u got infinity(like me), ur better off using light.
and they're all lying, the more mf the better.

It really depends on what you're looking for.
If you're sorceress is wearing all MF gear consider the fact that she might not be able to kill a lot of stuff.

I dont care what anyone says... the more mf you have the better. Item changes i would make would be 6 isted crystal sword instead of Occy and if you can find some 40 mf magic rings with some decent mods than your better off with those than Nagel rings.

^^ Isn't that impossible? 40 mf rings with mods? To get a ring with 40 mf, both, the prefix and the suffix, are +mf mods(fortuitous ring of fortune). Doesn't that leave no room for other mods? Either way, take that over a nagel. You obviously don't need the ar from them for a sorc or hammerdin.
I use a hammerdin with about 330 mf. I've found 3 sojs with him so you don't necessarily need high mf to find the good stuff. It's all chance, more mf=higher chance, but it doesn't mean you'll find the elite uniques. Just experiment, see what works for you.

yeah that is what i am gonna do. i got MMbot and i tried it out. but it is kinda hard to figure out. is there any guides that will show me how to do it? i got the newest version so i cant find any set ups like it. i got it from http://www.mmbot.net. so if anyone know where to get some good guide so i can get it set up i would appreciate it. thanks

All depends on opinion. I just get a ton of power and do runs more. I found ok things, nothing amazing. My hammerdin had about 240 and he found great things. My light sorc had about 500-600 mf for a while and found really good things too, so.
