Mindful
The good with the bad,
The bad with the worst.
Some things in life are sad,
Will nothing quench my thirst?
I thirst for knowledge, is it such a crime?
Longing to have all the wisdom I can take.
But alas, there is too little time.
For time is like a river, me living in its wake.
Not able to be controlled by my mind,
It runs freely, winding, twisting.
Until it turns into life, a beast of a different kind.
Turning, twisting, slithering, and hissing.
Like life, you under estimate its potential;
You don’t pay attention; you let it pass you by.
But as it draws closer, you realize in full,
How important it is; too late, the snake has taken a bite,
Out of your mind, no longer can you fight.
