I want to hear what all of you think are the greatest bands/artists of all time...not just the most enjoyable but base it on talent, quality, creativity, originality, energy, how the inspire modern music, and on the message...
Here are some bands I would like to nominate (in no specific order):
Tool...................which would also bring me to nominate Maynard James Keenan
Pink Floyd
Nirvana
Metallica
Led Zepplin
The Doors
Nine Inch Nails
Queen
Jimmy Hendrix
Sublime
This list will be updated as you all tell me to drop bands and add new ones...put up an argument if you want the list changed though...I don't want to drop a band for no good reason...and if you want my reason for any of the bands listed please ask and I'm sure I will have something for ya

tupoc, biggy, p diddy, they really brought out rap into mainstream america and they still are well respected and such even though two of them are dead (except for maybe tupoc depending on who u talk to )

Ok Tupac and The Ramones I agree on...but personally, no disrespect to the dead, I don't feel Biggy and P Diddy should be on the list but since you brought up rap I think the old school rappers that really started the "rap revolution" should go up like Run DMC...as for Incubus I hated their last album...and atempt to be political and such and horribly failing...while I love Brandon Boyd's voice and alot of his writting I say Incubus stopped at Make Yourself...sorry guys...you'll always have Trust the Fungus

forgot about run dmc, they were important but that havnt had the staying power of the ones i mentioned, puffy is still in the game and is everywhere, chances are he is going to be any rap vid u watch, every rapper is always givin props to biggy, he still influences the rap community(i never thought i say rap and communtiy together) i forgot snoop,

Well I'm not too big on rap but due to word of mouth from the people I know who love rap most would protest P Diddy...Biggy non really talk about but all are obsessed with Tupac so I dunno if there is more support for it Biggy might be a good one for the final list...and for Run DMC yeah not making new music but their inspiration still stands...not to mention they are one of if not the first rap group to do a song with a rock band...

watch bet all puffy all the time, every vid hes in some how, hes got his on label, clothing line, special cutom car line, an alcoholic beverage i think though that might be jz oh ya add that to my list, ill keep coming up with more the more i think about it, also add the rapper for rappers delight, some credit him with really helping get rap started because it was the first hit so to say

Well i come from Australia and there are some really phat rapers that deserve some US attention, if u interseted in some Aussie Hip-Hop post sumtin and ill give u the names and u can search on Kazaa or wat ever u use... it will be worth it.

i think good bands like sfu or cof should be on the list
mushroomhead is a definite as is korn(who can argue with the vocals of john davis?), they are both totally inspirable to all metalheads
dimmu brogir is also one of the most respected bands in metal. Punk should die along with the ppl who revolutionized it. the idea of mixing angry pop stars and metal music that is overun by excessive snare and whines from the singer makes me sick. as much as i hate rap Biggie was the biggest influence on a lot off rappers and about puffy? f*** him hes a no one. NWA deserves alot of rap credit as well

some other good bands are night wish, static x, slipknot, a perfect circle, finger 11 and cryptopsy.
the most inspirable song ive heard lately, beleive it or not , is probably that lil whiney song fu*k it by eamon.......power to the ppl who are sick of their hoes!!!

1. The Beatles (w/out them...well you've heard the story)
2. Led Zepplin
3. Pink Floyd
4. Billy Joel (solo-artist)
5. Boston (which most of you don't know)
6. Nirvana (of course)
7. The Rolling Stones (nothing too revolutionary to put them in the top 5)
8. Smashing Pumpkins
9. Hendrix (another solo-artist)
10. Eric Clapton (is god :p )
And the close calls would be Steppin Wolf and Band on the Run
