my first avatar - hellsing293 - 06-02-2006 well i had to an avatar for another website and i was wanting to get back into ps. I thought hey, why not make one, it's only an avatar. Well seeing as i've never made anything good on ps before i feel good about this. i went from: to and it only took a few easy steps. i used paint to clear up all the white in the back too. I've kept adding to this and making it better. do you have any suggestion on it? i don't like how its all black in the backround but at the same time it makes it lens flare look a lot cooler. and i did this without any brushes or anything. my first avatar - SilverTears - 06-04-2006 Well, its ok for your first. But its waaaaayyyyyyyy to over contrasted/sharpened. I love the idea of the lens flare though. Pretty Cool. The text is ok for your first. http://www.dafont.com is suggested for good fonts. GJ my first avatar - L4E - 06-04-2006 its preferable if u post this in the sig/ava showoff thread, alot more people will look at it, just fyi divine is right, it seems really over sharpened, try to return it to its original state and maybe sharpen it less. Get some good brushes, since u dont like the black in the back, u could try to brush around a bit with a dark colour, so the contrast between the background and the lens flare is still important
