Click on Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> File and Settings Transfer Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure you do this for every user on your computer, that means, log-in to your account and do it, then log-in to the other accounts one-by-one and do it again. Make sure you save all the back-up files in a new folder on your drive (eg, C:\Backup). Now copy that folder to a spare hard drive or use a burning program to burn it to CDs or DVDs. When your done backing all your files up, goto: http://www.windowsreinstall.com/ and find the tutorial that you need to re-formant and re-install Windows. Here's one for Windows XP Home SP2: http://www.windowsxphome.windowsreinstall.com/sp2installxpcdoldhdd/indexfullpage.htm Hope this helps. reformatting - hellsing293 - 06-05-2006 wm posted a guide to reformatting your computer in my post "wiping my computer"(idk these terms sry lol). should be a link in 2nd post of thread. |
