ya so my mom says that between me and mysister we spend 2 much time on the computer, this however is not true in the last 2 weeks i have maby spent a total of 10 hrs on the computer thats less than a hr a day. well just recently my sister spent a night on the computer but it was after dark and she was talkin to her friends on msn. my mom saw this and got mad and took away cords from the computer so we cant get on!!!! grrrrrr it amkes me mad cuz it was after dark no0t like my sister was gonna go outside and play she probably woulda just watched TV. wat would u guys do in my position and wat advice or stories can u share with me that might help my situation.....(i can only use the computer at school in my 1st period class cuz it is a computer class.... thats how i make all my posts for the last week)

do what your mom says and stop crying...parents have their reasons...talk to her about it if you think you are being treated unfairly...if your mom is anything like mine, she will treat you with respect if you do the same

Back when I lived with my parents my mom would do this. I was able to score a power cable from my school and used that when they weren't around.
It drove me nuts. You cant be on the computer but you can sit infront of the TV all you like. Oh well.
I wouldn't stress over it, if the computer is such a big part of your life that you are frekaing out over this then mabye it's time to take a step back. I'm sure your parent's aren't doing this to spite you, probably just looking out for your own best interest and want you to get out house a little.

My parents, mom in particular, were the opposite. She would practically lock us up in the room playing games to keep us in the house.
Trust me WEEd, your situation can be a lot worse. There's nothing like wanting to get off the computer, but not being allowed to leave the house.

lets think about this for a sec, "weed"...perhaps the vary reason your mom doesnt want you to be on the internet is right in front of you, in your vary screen name nonetheless? maybe not specifically weed itself, but your mom probably feels(correctly) that you have too much access to things you are too young to have access for on the internet. try talking to her about it instead of trying to get pity from us

well u dont really need the computer that much, try hanging out with ur friends more often, if u have a bus card than u can go practically anywhere.

Give her a little break, first just kind of forget about the computer, then talk to her, then when you get the power cords back, play little everyday. She will then trust you, and you can go on longer.

you guys know nothing. my mom just made me throw my xbox from the second floor of my house because i took it back out again and she told me 2 days ago not to play it anymore because i was playing it too much even though i only play around 3 hours a day at most, it is summer, and she does not allow me to work more than 3 days a week at the pool because she is afraid that i will get cancer
read those reasons again and you will agree with me in all serious consideration that my mom is clinically insane

i'm pissed off at her. she expects me to pay nearly all of my college costs yet point black refuses to let me work more than 3 days at the pool. she gives me the option of finding a second job, but keep telling her that i get good hours at the pool and good pay but she just wont listen
another thing, she expects me to stay at home on the weekdays to look after my sick relative yet she expects me to do it without watching television or playing xbox for the 12 hours i sit there

I'm stronger than my mother, and I make it very clear to her that it indeed is so (not that I've ever touched her). Then she usually resorts to screaming, which I just ignore. By the way, this isn't about computers/gaming. I can do either one of those for as long as I want.

i am 16 and i dont smoke weed and my mom Knows nothing about this forum i only come on it at school 1st period. she thinks i am on msn and diablo even wen i am doin my homework

same with my mom she only lets me work weekends and wants me 2 pay all my university. luckely my dad is gonna help out as much as posible

Honestly, if you are this upset because you got your computer taken away, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
But you must understand that your mother and father come from an entire generation prior to computer games and console games. Or atleast from the point to where they were this addicting. They spent their days outside interacting with their friends. This is how they were properly socialized. True.. you do socialize online, etc. But, I gaurentee you that half of the things you say online, you would never say to someone in person. I'm no doctor, so I won't even try to lecture you on the differences.
Here's a little anecdote:
I recently met a couple who played Guild Wars. They just moved to the area I live in, and they wanted to go out. Well, I find out they moved in with the girls mom. This girl is 29 and her boyfriend is 24. She has a 10 year old son (prev marriage). Anyhow, I went over there after a few drinks, and met her brother. He is 24, has no job. He is lazy. All he does is raid on WoW all day. He has no respect for his parents. He doesn't do anything. And I thought it couldn't get worse.
All 3 of these adults refused to get jobs and sat infront of their respective PC's all day. They mooched of their mother and step-father. Eventually the stepdad got so fed up, he shut off the internet. And all 3 of them have the nerve to criticize him and get pissed at him. Yet, he is providing them all a roof, food, bed, everything.. for free. Yet they think he is evil because he shut off their internet. It infuriates me because if I tried to go home like that at 24 years old.. I wouldn't be able to lol.
Anyhow, my point is... they all got so engulfed by games, it blinded them from everything else in life. I mean, this woman had a 10 year old son. She never disciplined him and lets him game as much as he wants. He is spoiled, whines, and gets his way everytime. Even if he does something wrong, it isn't his fault. She is missing out on raising her son for video games.
But, you are still a child. You have time to play games and goof off
Your parents are just from a different generation But.. consider this. There is alot more out there than computer games, man. Don't waste your teenage years infront of a monitor. You need to find a balance. You don't want to be 24 or 29 years old, living at home, still whining about the computer do you?
