I was just wondering if it was possible to mess around and do some ubers on single player, since US east has got some "problems" I figured I'd try and have some fun on sp. Can anyone tell me whether or not I can do ubers on sp? or is it a bnet only thing.

You can, but you need a mod.

The only way you could uber is if you got the PlugY plugin here: http://www.blizzsector.co/mods-mod-making/25101-ladder-ubers-plugin-plugy-survival-kit.html
It does a bunch of stuff, like unlimited stash, ladder-only runewords, and, yes, it allows you to do the ladder ubers. They won't be the exact same (no minions), but other than that it's pretty much the same and you'll get a torch/SoH after defeating them.
There is no way besides using this plugin you will be able to do ubers because being a World Event it involves connecting to their servers and such to open all of the red portals.
