Profiling. It's in the news all the time. Do you guys agree or disagree with it. Discuss and try to keep flame to a reasonable level (below avarage).
I think that it's a good thing, because even though it may look "prejudiced", you are getting the job done, i.e. the latest aversion of the terrorist attack on the planes flying between London and the U.S.

Profiling works. How many terrorists have been the stereotypical "little old lady?" Or when 80% (or more) of crimes are committed by 20% (or less) of a population, how can you not accept it in some form. I agree that it can be abused but statistically you are wasting time looking at other populations equally. This works for terrorism, pedofiles, and most other crimes in diverse populations.

Just like when you go to the ghetto. What race is predominant there. My fiancee thinks im racist but its simple fact. White folks cause crime as well but high crime areas,in my part of the country at least, is a result the concentration of the hispanic and african amercian population.

Same where I live, there have been a record number of murders this year. Most those killed were black, and almost all of desciptions of the "suspects" are black. The black population is only about 25%. I don't have anything against blacks, I know many I consider friends and they are like me in many ways. They are just as angry about the problems in the "Black Community" as I am.

I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and all the Katrina evacuees just straight take advantage of the plans in place to help them. And crime rose drastically. Not just a coincidence i dont think.

I support racial profiling 100%. It's not exactly the same as making a generalization about an individual. It doesn't always get the job done, but it sure as hell helps a lot.

Your right, My dad works for the NYPD for past 20 years now, almost every description they get , is nearly always a black male. Come to New york, and you'll see how much better (as in crime dropping statistics) it's gotten, because of Racial Profiling. We've caught more people in the act's and before the crime was commited, rather than after, because of RP.

I Do And I Dont, like if me and my friends are chillin cops like to randomly search them not me.(which is good for me) but i have a lot of good black friends and bad ones. the good ones seem to get in trouble for standing buying a hotdog from a street vendor while the bad ones go rob someone. where i live its ****ed.

Its messed up too cause they dress all g'ed up and bitch when they get messed with. What do you expect. If you look like a criminal your gonna get suspected as one. You dont see cops messing with black folks wearing a polo shirt tucked into kakhis. But thats the same for white people too. If your wearing a fubu shirt and saggin pants its your own fault they ****in with you.

Racial profiling isn't something you choose to do. You're born with it. You see a black guy in a nasty town wearing oversized tshirts standing in an alley, you're not gonna go ask him for directions. You'll go to the white guy in the suburbs with a nice suit and tie driving a ford explorer. Of course, if you see a black guy in a nice suit and tie driving a ford explorer you would ask him for directions instead of the white guy with corn rows wearing an oversized white-T and bandana.
Profiling depends on where you are. Its just that MOST of the time, the ghettos are filled with hispanics and blacks, and suburbs are filled with whites.

Rp helped me. I was pulled over in a bad neighborhood I am white the area is mostly afro american. Cops pull me over their guns drawn they see I am white and ask what I am doing( picking up obviously) , lied said I was lost. If I was black they would have ripped my car apart looking for my goodies. So yeah racial profiling is needed hahahaha

in my state my school was all over the new for this. i guess like a more than $1,000 worth of ipods/cell phones were missing so they searched the cops visiting team who just happened to be about 100% black(i live in all white town...very boring too lol) found nothing, then searched them a second time. they made them dump their bags and everything. and they didn't even search anyone from our school(the white kids) and now that school is making a big deal and we're being considered racist for racial profiling and being wrong.
my point is, rp is a double edge sword. it helps most of the time and goes unsaid, but when it back fires once in a while it really blows up in your face.
