Question about cube recipes. - Acamus - 08-30-2006

Recently started playing Diablo II after coming across it while at the store, (Remembered playing the demo years and years ago and couldn't remember why I didn't buy it) and I recently played a character to act2 and got the horadric cube. The recipes that I find on most sites seem to be .. incorrect. (I am using v1.11b, without the expansion.. if that is relevant information)

Most sites say something similar to:
3 rings = 1 amulet
3 amulets = 1 ring
3HP+3MP = small rejuv pot
3HP+3MP+gem = full rejuv pot
3 small rejuv pots = full rejuv pot
And others..

whereas for me, it is:
3 rings = nothing
3 amulets = nothing
3HP+3MP = nothing
3HP+3MP+gem = small rejuv pot
3 small rejuv pots = nothing

When I say nothing, I mean that.. they wont transmute. Also, I have tried every combination of hp and mana potion types, to no avail.

I know that it may seem like something minor that doesn't really affect my game at all.. but at some parts, I get 15 potions in a room that arent useful to me.. and if I could transmute them, then perhaps I could get some full rejuv pots for a few boss fights.

If anyone could let me know of a place where I could find the .. updated list (If that is indeed my problem) it would be appreciated. I also updated from whatever version it was on the CD (1.00?) to 1.11b directly.. should I have done 12+ patches seperately rather than just the 1.11b patch?

The only cube recipes I can find on this site are for 1.09d and they are the same 'incorrrect' ones that I mentioned. The only recipes I can find on the net are pretty much the same.

You could try this site www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/cube.shml, but after a quick look through they seem to have the same thing for rings, ammys, and pots. Is it ok 4 me to put that link up there?

I know at some point the health + mana = rejuv was disabled but the 3 rejuv = 1 full rejuv still works for me.
Here is a link to what I find is usually pretty accurate for cube recipes:
http://www.brittonrobbins.com/pdfs/D2LOD_HoradricCube_11009.pdf
and this one for crafting in the cube:
http://www.brittonrobbins.com/pdfs/D2LOD_CraftedItems_11003.pdf

Hope that helps somewhat.

I might be that your on non expansion. I heard certain recipes dont work. Also when you try your rings to amulets make sure the rings are all magic. No rare or unique rings. Same with amulets into rings.

as far as i know, all info on arreat summit(www.battle.net/diablo2exp) is for expansion only...a big clue is the exp on the end of the site name. and thats where all your other sites get their info anyways so you are better off just checking there. so orange is most likely right that being no-exp is your problem. do a search for "non exp d2 cube recipes" and see what you get...or just join the year 2000 and buy the expansion.

This is right on the mark. I have a friend nonexp. He too cannot do these cube recipes. I on the other hand can on exp. I mainly do the rejuvs + add sockets + gems, all others I am not too sure of.
