Sheesh, I'm still pretty steemed about Thanksgiving.

Up until last year my dad's side of the family would have a gigantic thanksgiving feast in Seattle, but for the past two years I haven't been able to go becuase my stupid ****ing job. Thursday off only, you don't get holiday pay if you take wednesday/friday off. And even if wanted to I couldn't take those days off becuase I'm (and I quote) Too valuable and nobody else can cover my posistion

If I had no obligations I would have just walked right there on the spot..

So for this Thanksgiving, I'll probably have cold cereal in the morning, a light lunch maybe soup or a sandwich, and for dinner I'll cook up a pot pie. Happy ****ing holidays.

Well this sucks. I can't go home for Thanksgiving because they don't give us enough time off. So I guess I'm not doing anything special.

Turkey Day - hellsing293 - 11-22-2006

i'm going to a relatives and ussually we eat a lot. i remember once we deep-fryed the turkey, holy shit that was the best turkey you would even have eaten. to anyone having a turkey(which is probably everyone), if you can i suggest deep-frying it as it comes out AWESOME.

I have had deep fried. I worked in a restaraunt that made it that way.My brother also runs a cooking team and competes and has smoked turkeys in an alluminum garbagecan.
For Thanksgiving this year I am going to my daughters place for her first attempt, although she will only be doing some of the cooking and has to work that night. It should be fun and I am looking forward to it.It is scary to impress Mom after so many years of her cooking, but she is ready for the challenge.
