Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - bigdeath - 11-29-2006 For any of you that havent seen it here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1VdxyCHuRE Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - PantallicA - 11-29-2006 I'm not saying what he said was right, but I'm not saying it was wrong either. If people of the black community can use that term that is "so derogatory" towards eachother, why can't white people? Hispanics? Come on, racism is dead. They're just beating a dead horse. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - bigdeath - 11-29-2006 Exactly the way I feel about it. And in the video you hear them calling him "Cracker-ass" and "Whiteboy" in a derrogitory fashion. Also if you ever watch some of these black comedians. Their whole act is ripping on white people. I just think its crazy that its a one way door like that. They can make fun of us and we take it in good humor. If one of us do it to them its mortal sin. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - PantallicA - 11-29-2006 Chris Rock said it best: "I love black people, but I ****ing hate ******s." Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - Fuggle - 11-29-2006 I really couldn't give a shit about it, but I love his new nickname KKKramer. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - slimp - 11-29-2006 He went too far, but it was still pretty funny. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - DaCougarMech - 11-29-2006 it certainly wasn't appropriate but we're all hypocrites if we said that it never happened to us and i can certainly sympathize with why he did it Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - AngelOfSin - 11-29-2006 yeha it was wrong...but still they were being assholes and he snapped and i agree ''African Americans'' can make whole acts about white people say cracker and whatnot but if someone says ******s its all over your a racist and youll never get your rep back lol its not right but he was out of line saying what he did. he did not leave it at one ''N word'' he kept saying it so...he could have dealt with it better Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - John - 11-29-2006 He has already apologized twice, and he has been banned from the comedy club, over and done with. They say in the next 20 years we will all be the same color, woot racism is dieing LOL Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - Fuggle - 11-29-2006 Too bad we won't... Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - DaCougarMech - 11-29-2006 yeah right. it's gonna take much longer than that. realize that we're not all going to one day suddenly turn beige Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - Tap - 11-29-2006 lucky he didnt get shot. Dont all black people carry guns or something? i saw it on cnn Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - xDBD - 11-29-2006 People who deny the power any word has on any one given individual are frankly stupid. Black people in particular have had quite the hard past and more than likely quite the tough present situation. Coming from the trashier side of America it's easier for me to say this as poverty is all around. Nxgger holds weight for many reasons.. but no matter what the reasons, no White guy should drop the n-bomb. It's socially a big taboo, number one. Number two.. it's one thing for a black guy to refer to himself as a nxgger in the third-person, but it's another for a white guy (who is clearly unstable) to repeatedly call people in the audience a nxgger. At the same time, as a resident White-Black man, I know if my blacker side ever made an appearence the word wouldn't hold weight with me, but I was raised as a poor white guy from Florida. The word "boy," in reference to me or my actions is more offensive to me in my current mind than any word used to degrade me because of the color of my skin. That's just me though. No. I do not think that "they," are making a big deal of Kramer's episode. He may have been unstable.. but hey, I may have been drunk when I hit that car with all the old people in it. Doesn't make me driving at the time right, does it? Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - bigdeath - 11-29-2006 Yeah but its just stupid that a black man can rip on whites all he wants but when a white guy says something its over. Even mexicans make fun of blacks and its all good. But a white guy..... They always play the slavery card but honestly. The only cotton any black guy in this day and age has picked was out of the top of a tylenol bottle. And what their ancestors and our ancestors did have nothing to do with what is going on today. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - Mushroomhead18nc - 11-29-2006 he didn't go too far in my opinion. He is a Comedian. Half of comedians jokes are about other races. I personally am not racist. But who cares if some people are. People dont like other people. Thats there beliefs for being racist. If your gonna make a big deal about being a racist then u might as well make a big deal for someone being christian or jewish or etc. He didnt do anything wrong. Hes not the first person to call someone a ******. Besides black people call us crackers. thats not any different than ******. its a slain word term used for "African American." oh no. People get pissed off about anything in this day and time Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - John - 11-29-2006 Quote:yeah right. it's gonna take much longer than that. realize that we're not all going to one day suddenly turn beigeWe won't turn beige, we are turning neon green, and we will have zebra like stripes. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - xDBD - 11-29-2006 bigdeath Wrote:Yeah but its just stupid that a black man can rip on whites all he wants but when a white guy says something its over. Oh please. If you can honestly tell me that ONE particular word doesn't strike you ill you're a liar. The n-bomb just happens to be that one trigger for an entire ethnicity of peoples concentrated in one area of the world. A black born and raised in say Siberia wouldn't give a shit if you called him a nxgger. It's not just the words, but the context in which you say them and also in the way that you deliver them. We can leave the obvious ties of racism and white supremacy 'nigger' carries in America.. Kramer went from a poorly played joke to an over-the-top festival of racial slurs. I do like how the guy was like "blah blah blah you'se nothing. No movies, no shows, no nothin. Just Seinfeld" yeah.. he just had a leading role in the biggest sitcom ever. rolleyes: Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - wm_hunter - 11-30-2006 Tap Wrote:lucky he didnt get shot. Dont all black people carry guns or something? i saw it on cnn. Oh my god... you got me rolling on the floor laughing at that one... I agree it is a double standard, but Kramer was not just insulting black people in general in his act (like african americans do to white people), he was taking a specific person from the audience and insulting the shit out of him. It is different, and although he would probably be under some heat for making some jokes about african americans, it may not have been nearly as bad. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - bigdeath - 11-30-2006 Yeah but just think about it. You go to watch Def Jam with Chris Rock. A white guy is being loud and making a scene interrupting his act. What do you think hes going to do. Buy him a drink? Hell no its white boy ripping time then. Do you think they're making too big of a deal out of the Michael Richards thing. - Fuggle - 11-30-2006 Everyone is racist, mushroomhead. They just may not realize it, stereotypes are everywhere. |
