I heard form a few people that items kept in the horadric cube can't poof. has this been confirmed? First i thought it was jus a **** Bs'ing but then a few in some baal games said it was tru. Anyone know anything on it

I donno, I will have to try that, sooo many of my HR's poof ><. I was thinking about something like a p coa or p griffs, items that can still poof, that you dont need, put it on merc, have merc die, then what? does it still poof when you join games and your merc is dead?

i have also heard of people talking aobut a temp perm, where you go into the trade screen with them, and you place the item into the trade screen. then the other person clicks accept, and then you exit out of the window.. i dont know if that works, but ya, runes are now starting to disappear if you create a new game after you trade items...

Temp perms almost always work, but one time even after I permed the first game that I joined after left I noticed that had no hr! Damn dupers, they could at least up them before they trade them.

I too have heard this rumor, and that is all I think it is. I heard it as people suggesting that the cube be upgraded to protect against scams. Not sure, but that is the word.

If your items keep *poof*ing, then do what Kyle brought up and perm them. But know this, "permed" items are items that will not 'poof', or disappear. They are items that are from 1.09 or earlier, and are almost guaranteed not to disappear. Items that were duped in 1.10 tend to poof. Beware of people claiming their items are "permed" as people like to try to do this to make you pay more for their item, when in fact, it isn't permed at all, and will poof. Only trade for "permed" items from trusted members.
You can perm items by putting them in the trade display and then leaving the game without saying or doing anything.

really???? heh.. i have heard about that 2 times in the game.. but now a third time from bzs.. sweet, so the rumors are true. to clarify on the perming, place your items in the trade window and have the other person click accept. then leave the game. thanks zerokool for clarifing things

You can perm runes by uping them in the cube but unless you dupe thats a waste, the only way to perm is to click on someone or have someone click on you, open trade window and then leave. If there are other methods of perming items then its probably private.

And what kyle said about putting duped stuff on merc then leaving it dead. I'd really think that would actually work. I wish I had something to try it with tho lol.

the safest thing to do is store all your hrs on a mule, only log on it when you need them.
i havent heard of the cube preventing poofs but just to be safe always keep your hrs on a mule and never on you from game to game.

eh not all the time, i havent even had any hrs poof on me in 3 months anyway, all i do is keep um stashed, or make them into runewords right away.
another good method to use, is only get hrs when you want to make something.
i do this all the time, whats the point in going through the non-sence of hr trading, just get um, and use um right away.
(they dont poof once used in an item)

Make your own game requiring a password and get a friend to stand in the game while you do your transfers and whatnot. If you do it without a second person, the game will close to inactivity and you will lose what items you left in it.

Just remember if blizzard does a ruststorm.. Anything with duped runes in it WILL POOF..

Very true. but they havent done a rust storm in a while now

they have the ability to get rid of all dupes with ruststorm
but they choose not too
