Check out this one site I found --- d2advantage.tripod.com.
The site layout is shitty, but its easy to find what you want (the maphack is like 1st or 2nd on the page)... all pass virus-scan stuff (i have ==everything== on the page)!!!

1) Download d2Hackit and put it in your diablo folder or wherever...
2) Put the new maphack .d2h file in the same folder as d2hackit
3) Open Diablo II
4) Minimize diablo II then open loader.exe (comes with d2hackit)
Alt-Tab back to diablo...
Map hack should now be loaded by default...
Otherwise type in the message console
.load maphack
